For Chinese consumers, although Hyundai Motor once used Sonata and Elantra to be a smash hit in the Chinese market, in recent years, apart from taxis in Beijing, their sense of existence has become weaker and weaker.

Especially in an era where electric vehicles are emerging in endlessly, modern electric vehicles have almost no sense of existence in the Chinese market, and it can even be said that they have been losing ground before they “make a move.” Beijing Hyundai has launched several pure electric vehicles in the Chinese market. The sales volume in 2018 is still good, and the monthly sales volume will only be a few hundred. Even in 2020, the annual sales of Angsino will only be 559.

So when the news broke that Apple was looking for a Hyundai Group to build a car, many people had trouble understanding what Apple looked at Hyundai?

The answer is the E-GMP pure electric production platform of Hyundai Group, and the first show of this platform is the just released IONIQ 5.

On February 23, Hyundai Motor’s pure electric brand IONIQ released its first mass-produced model IONIQ 5. This is an electric vehicle designed and manufactured from the ground up based on the pure electric platform E-GMP, using 800V high-voltage electrical Architecture, in 800V fast charge mode, it can be fully charged in 18 minutes, and 100km can be charged in 5 minutes.

IONIQ 5 will have four main configurations to choose from, namely Standard Range or Long Range, rear-wheel drive (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
