The “White Paper” points out that the design industry is undergoing transformation along with the development and change of the Internet. Designers’ functions have increased and roles have changed. The market has higher requirements for emerging design talents.

The “White Paper” summarizes the four main characteristics of the current design industry through data, which are:

1. Internet development promotes the transformation of the design industry

2. Technological development, industrial innovation, and emerging design talent demand characteristics are prominent

3. The number of new talents is increasing, and the emerging Internet design professions such as games and interaction are in short supply

4. The demand for re-education is high, and the online education platform mainly undertakes re-cultivation of skills.

The “White Paper” for the first time proposes and defines a new professional form-the emerging design of the Internet, which refers to the comprehensive design of digital products and services, which is characterized by the application of Internet technology and focuses on user experience and interactive processes. Design in the traditional sense is mainly for physical products, and emerging designs have become intangible abstractions, such as interface design, UI design, user experience, etc.

The functions of designers are being extended. Similarly, the market’s requirements for designers are also increasing.

A Tencent product experience designer said in an interview that he involves vision in his work.When it comes to algorithm-related issues, the technical side will provide the capability documentation to the designer to let them know how much the current technology can achieve. Designers must not only understand technology, but also actively learn related skills: “A lot of people around me are learning 3D or video, animation production. If I have the opportunity, I also want to learn Python. We are too difficult to understand everything” p>

Enterprises have an urgent need for emerging design talent. Big data shows that among current design-related positions, the demand of the emerging Internet design market accounts for 85.4% of the recruitment, far exceeding the proportion of other design positions.

In addition, the post’s requirements for emerging design talents are also diversifying.

In terms of majors, there are both majors in arts and human-computer interaction, software engineering, and computers. In terms of regions, nearly 40% of the posts are distributed in first-tier cities. Recruitment ratios in online cities have risen; in terms of capabilities, companies not only focus on visible skills such as design expertise and skills, but also focus on hidden skills such as attitude, personality, and thinking.

Take interaction design as an example. Recruiting companies require this position to have both professional knowledge and basic knowledge in business, operations, services, research and technology, etc .; both mature design work and output From a global perspective, think about how design can help products achieve business goals; they must execute design content at work, and participate in the entire process of the product from initiation to planning, from execution to implementation. .

In terms of salary, the average salary of the emerging Internet design is 9,418 yuan, and the average salary of talents with high education (undergraduate or above) and rich experience (more than 3 years of work experience) is higher than the overall. At the same time, large enterprises have higher requirements for talents, and more than 90% of design-related positions require a bachelor degree or above.
