Spectacles 3 Compared to the previous two generations, the biggest upgrade is that each side of the lens is equipped with a high-definition camera. The official introduction is that this design is inspired by the human eye. The dual camera can capture the depth and width of the picture like a human eye. A 3D-capable video or picture, a built-in 4-microphone array for high-fidelity audio, and a spectacle frame in stainless steel.

In addition, Spectacles 3 also has an exclusive 3D filter and AR pendant, such as a flying phoenix or a dreamy color AR filter, such as dynamic elements depending on the distance of the subject, heart-shaped components touch To the real thing, etc. Users can also create their own AR filters with Snap’s filter manufacturer Lens Studio and upload videos directly to the YouTube VR channel.

Charging is similar to the previous two generations, and the glasses case provides up to 4 full charges.

With the price increase with hardware, Spectacles 3 is priced at $380 (about 2,700 yuan), more than twice as many as the previous generation, and the previous generation is only $200. Currently the official website is only available for pre-sale and is expected to be shipped this fall.

At the time of the first generation of Spectacles in 2016, Spectacles was highly sought after by the current look and the $150 price was much lower than the same photo-photographable Google Glass, coupled with the hunger marketing of vending machines. Said to be “net red.” Unfortunately, the good times are not long. When the freshness of consumers has passed, Spectacles can only be thrown at home to eat ash, and sales have plummeted. In the 2017 Q3 earnings report, Snap disclosed that it had suffered a loss of US$40 million due to “overstock inventory and inventory purchase commitment cancellation”. There are also reports that there are tens of thousands of glasses in stock.
