To grow quickly, you need to learn these three points.

Many readers often ask me what are the core competencies that should be cultivated in their twenties?

In combination with my own experience, I have summed up three abilities that I think are very important today, as explained below. Purely personal experience sharing, if it is useful to you, then it is better, enter the text below.

1. Cultivate “system” awareness

To judge whether a young person has potential or not, the most important criterion is to see how he treats something that he has never done before.

I often introduce a “system sense” to describe the process of learning and getting started.

The so-called system is to construct a path map to achieve the goal by splitting and combining the methods, steps and processes of doing things.

Whether it’s a new task to explain, or a very tricky new thing, there must be a systematic approach behind them. It is both a matter of doing things and a guide to avoiding pits. It is also a guide to help us achieve our goals quickly and efficiently.

However, few people will consider these things before they do something.

Most people are often “intuitive” players. I have arranged things, I don’t have to ask anything, I don’t think much about it, no matter what it feels like to do it.

If there isn’t an experienced person who will take you through the whole process, you will definitely walk a lot and do a lot of useless work. This is reflected in the eyes of the boss, which is an inefficient impression.

Ordinary people think about it first, and then go back and think about the cause; smart people want to do it again, minimize possible errors, and avoid detours to the greatest extent.

The difference between the two is the sense of system (as shown below):

The three most competing abilities in youth: system, coordination, and delay satisfaction

The lower part of this picture, I really suggest that you can study it. The small number in the figure is the step of doing things. Once the system’s streamlined thinking becomes a habit, it can greatly improve work efficiency.

My jobI have brought a lot of new people in my career. Only one person who impressed me at this point is Jane.

Once, I arranged a task for Jane to help me search and organize the case data of the live industry.

After the result, she ran over to find me. I thought that you are doing it so quickly! ?

I didn’t expect Jane to open a Word document for me. It’s not the case data I want, but an action outline that is less than 200 words.

As it turned out, she split my assigned tasks into a detailed work step diagram. She wrote this:

1. Development status of China’s live broadcast industry;

2. Introduction to the live broadcast platform;

3. Analysis of the commercial profit model of the live broadcast industry;

4. Live marketing incentives for brand customers;

5. Forecast of future live broadcast industry development;

Not only that, but under each major item, she also splits into many small items according to her own understanding, and even where the information of these small items should be found.

Example:

1. Development status of China’s live broadcast industry:

a. The origin and rise of webcasting (Source: XX website, XX Magazine);

b. Live audience data in China (Source: XX Report);

c. Classification of live broadcasts (source: XX article);

Finally, guess how long it took her to complete the full report?

3 days.

If you want to put on someone I have taken before, you may not be able to do it for ten days and a half.

This is the magic of the system. Jane didn’t do the same thing as everyone else, and he did it right after he got the job.

If you are a newcomer, in this case you will probably be beaten back and redo. Because you have not done it, have no experience, do not know what information should be put, what information is not necessary to find, what information I need to see more detailed.

Jane’s clever thing is that she thought of these possibilities beforehand, so she was not in a hurry to let me confirm the results of her work, but let me confirm her working methods first.

It’s like building a house. If there is no problem with the design drawings, then it is impossible to have a situation where it is built and then reintroduced.

What is savvy?

I think this is called understanding.

The three most capable abilities in youth: system, coordination, and delay satisfaction

2. Learn to play with

Use the symphony as a metaphor.

If you think of a company or organization as a uniform symphony orchestra, you are a new trumpeter at this moment, then your first priority is to quickly understand what type of symphony orchestra is playing and how to beat the tune. .

If the person playing the piano is playing an Allegro dance, can your trumpet keep up with his rhythm, neither dragging nor robbing?

If the music enters the next chapter at this time, the cellist in the orchestra suddenly slows down the rhythm, and Allegro turns into a slow board. Can you react immediately and adjust it in time?

The sense of rhythm is a kind of ability to cooperate. This is also a core competency, and it is the most important ability to be mastered when you are young.

Why do you say that?

Because of strong leadership, it is all about learning to play.

I have a deep understanding of this.

When I was just working, all I did was work with other departments. Hard to say, but often because of the lack of coordination, other colleagues complained.

For this reason, I have been in a bad mood for a while. I think everyone is of the same age, your position is not higher than me, you are not my boss, why should I cooperate with you?

After a project handover problem, I had a big fight with my colleagues in the next department, and the entire office heard our voice. It was just that my boss just came back from the holiday and was shocked when he entered the office. Then he silently pulled me into a conference room.

I thought she would cover her face and lick me, and I even prepared for my resignation.

I don’t think she said the first sentence:

“I know what you are thinking.”

Afterwards, she observed the performance of my work during this time, and I sneaked it over and over again. The boss affirmed my efforts and pointed out my shortcomings. Especially in the division of labor with other departments, she corrected many of my past mistakes and made me realize.

She said that cooperating with others is not inferior. On the contrary, the people who do well are the unsung heroes in the team.Don’t say it, but if you don’t have it, you can’t do anything.

To this end, she also gave me many examples of her side, including herself, which is a typical example of leadership from behind the scenes.

People who understand and cooperate will think about the problem from the point and the line, from the line and the face. You think that you are doing a small job with a screw, but what role does the job play in the company’s entire business system, which will affect the next work of the department, is it possible to become a key link in the value chain? This is a place where you can explore and improve.

For example, when I was doing the case collection work, if I just posted the information found on the Internet in the PPT, then the colleagues in the creative department could not think of any inspiration for the case on the opponent.

However, if I can extract the thinking behind them from these cases, for example, what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this, and what kind of pain points the consumer has hit, which has something to learn from. ….. to deeply analyze the case from different dimensions, then for the colleagues who want to create ideas, it will get a lot of inspiration.

This is the value of my “cooperating work”.

In the later stages, this analysis and thinking can even lead the team to diverge and think creatively. Help others find directions when others don’t have ideas.

After a long time, you have changed from a “companion” to a “leader.”

In those years, I just came over like this.

The person who will cooperate will not be satisfied with the cooperation. He will try his best to improve the value of his work, and gradually move toward the upstream and downstream of the work, constantly enriching his skill tree and expanding his horizons.

This is the ultimate meaning of cooperation.

3. Understand delays

This last point is not so much a capability as it is a force.

The delay is satisfied, in the vernacular, it is:

“What I want, I want to be late.”

Note, not now, not, not, but later, the essence is in the word “late.” In the evening, it is to save your strength and chips, and then concentrate on the time when the time is ripe.

This is a long-term strategy to retreat.

It is not a repression of one’s own desires, but a mentality and method of overcoming the current difficult situation and striving for longer-term benefits. The temporary refusal is to get more in the future.

The most straightforward example is job hopping.

I have seen many people who have missed a bigger opportunity because they havetily changed jobs. It is a pity.

The most impressive thing is a subordinate I have ever taken.

When he first entered the company,Show your talents. Not only do things work, but also team awareness. Among the bunch of newcomers who have just come in, I am most optimistic about him.

One day, he walked straight to me and took the initiative to ask for a promotion.

To be honest, I admire his courage. This is the first time someone has been in the six months of employment and ran to ask for promotion.

I thought for a moment and didn’t directly reject him. Instead, tell him that if you want to be promoted to a manager, you must do the following three things:

1. Be able to lead small and medium-sized projects independently;

2. You cannot ask your boss unless you have a major problem;

3. You can talk directly to the account manager level;

In fact, he has been able to do seven or eight eight, but he still has a bad breath. According to the truth, it is barely possible to promise his promotion, as long as he gradually fills up the short board in the follow-up time, the manager’s position can be competent.

But I firmly want him to meet my requirements first, then talk about promotion.

I didn’t expect that he would resign the next day, and let me persuade me to stay and do nothing.

He took another company to his deputy director, Offer, and doubled his salary. He also told me that he wants to “fish and fish”.

I didn’t expect this to be a big pit.

In the new company for half a year, he was tired of dealing with four or five customers every day, and he was overwhelmed by the heavy KPI. The new company colleagues faced the “deputy director” of the 26-year-old, and his face was full of mistrust. Internal work is also deliberately not well matched, to see him ugly.

Although he has a higher salary, but the new job far exceeds his current ability, the pressure has gone up a lot. Every day in his circle of friends, he is a spit to his colleagues, complaints about customers, and doubts about himself.

It’s a pity that I saw it, and I feel that I should live.

If he did what I said at the time, I would like to give my ability to do or even exceed the manager’s position. I am willing to give him a promotion. And no accident, he was no problem with the deputy director after two years.

It is the eagerness to seek success, let him overestimate his own skills, rushed to pick up 100 points when he only had 80 points, and then was crushed to death by 120 points. In the end, this experience actually delayed him a lot of time.

On the contrary, if he knows how to delay the satisfaction, he will pick up a 70-point event at 80 minutes, and slowly move closer to 100 points in the case of full competence. After a period of time, he will rise to 90 points. In fact, it is more secure and smoother.

This is the ability to make one’s own abilities and always have more than the “requirements” of the job requirements. This kind of grasp of the room is a strategy of delaying satisfaction.

In fact, many are growing rapidly in the workplace.People are fascinated by this. It seems a bit slow, but in the long run this saves a lot of time in the middle of the detour, but the fastest and most effective way.

The above is the content of today, and finally summarize it. The most capable ability when I was young, I think it is the following three:

1. Cultivate “system” awareness;

2. Learn to cooperate;

3. Understand delays;

I hope to have some inspiration for you.
