On November 14, Ford officially announced the name of its new pure electric SUV model, Mustang Mach-E. Ford officially stated that Mach represents the ratio of aircraft speed to sonic speed, and the suffix E in Mach-E stands for “Electric” electric.
Ford said that Mustang Mach-E will be launched globally in Los Angeles on November 18th, Beijing time, and will be opened online in North America and Europe. On October 18, Ford announced a new round of electrification programs for the global market, targeting three markets in North America, Europe and China. In the North American market, Ford plans to launch a hybrid version of the new Ford Explorer and Ford Escape this year, and in 2020 will launch the new F-150 hybrid version and the new pure electric SUV, and the F-150 pure electric version will be launched in the future.
In the European market, Ford plans to launch 17 new energy models by 2024, 8 of which will be launched in 2019. Officials predict that by the end of 2022, Ford’s electric passenger cars sold in the European market will account for more than 50% of total sales.
For the Chinese market, Ford China released the “Ford China 2.0” strategy in April this year, proposing to launch more than 30 Ford and Lincoln brand new models for Chinese consumers in the next three years, 10 of which are new energy sources. Model.
Ford China official data shows that Ford sold 131,000 vehicles in China in the third quarter, down 30.3% from the same period last year. The total retail volume of Ford models in September was 28,000 units, a 5% increase from August sales and a 25% increase from July.
