Q: Many people are not optimistic about college students’ entrepreneurship. Why did Mr. Leng choose college graduates to start a business?

Leng Wei: I don’t like college students to start a business, after all, just after graduating from college, neither the mental nor social experience meets the conditions for successful business. At the same time, college students lack core technology, solid network connections, and team management experience. The most direct reason why I choose college students to start a business is that I always have a dream of starting a business. I hope that I can experience the process from immaturity to maturity. I can learn a lot of experience even if it is not successful. The indirect reason is because of the support of angel investors. The speed at which I choose to start a business.

Q: I was so young when I graduated, how do I form a team, recruit troops, and manage a team?

Leng Wei: When I first graduated, I didn’t understand anything. I worked with my classmates, brothers, and friends. The idea at that time was very simple, that is, trying to make a technology together, in fact, it was more like a task group doing a task. The process of recruiting people and doing business in the later period really allows us to understand the society. Many suitable team members have met in the later stage of doing business. From our current perspective, the team building philosophy is to hope to be an open, loose, win-win, continuous learning, crisis-conscious team.

Q: Most people are relatively unfamiliar with remote sensing. How does Jia Jia commercialize remote sensing data? Which areas and customers are served?

Leng Wei: Remote sensing is distant perception. What we do can be simply understood as satellites taking pictures of the earth in the sky. We use intelligent algorithms to extract useful information from the photos and complete The process of data from unstructured to structured. After we have structured data, we can model some businesses and apply them to the business. For example, in the field of agriculture, we focus on crop statistics, planting area calculation, yield estimation, crop growth status monitoring, and accurate weather for government departments in government departments.Services, etc .; and in the financial field, we cooperate with insurance companies to provide them with underwriting and underwriting of agricultural insurance, monitoring and early warning of underwriting targets, and insurance claim determination services. We also provide futures companies with global bulk based on analysis of remote sensing data. Services such as crop growth status and yield estimation support their futures investment. At the same time, we are also discussing with banks to use remote sensing data to support banks’ agricultural loan projects. In the field of agricultural industry chain, it will also conduct some business cooperation with some precision agriculture, agricultural capital companies, and agricultural Internet of Things companies.

Q: Many technologies have their origins in 2G, development in 2B, and maturity in 2C. If remote sensing can be 2C, it will have great commercial and social value. When can remote sensing be 2C?

Leng Wei: In fact, there are already 2C products for remote sensing, that is, the high-tech maps and Baidu maps we use. Most of the maps are actually made from remote sensing data. With the rapid development of the information age, many decisions begin to be based on accurate data rather than human intentions. When various carriers are finally formed, this time is an important manifestation of remote sensing data 2C. For example, perhaps with the advent of the 5G era, video transmission will be made more efficient, and computing power will continue to increase. AI intelligent algorithms will continue to deepen in the field of remote sensing. As a result, a series of different applications and services may be born. At that time, it may be possible for the news terminal to directly use remote sensing to do live broadcasts. At that time, everyone may really see the shocking scenes of the live broadcast earth, and these scenes and applications also continue to advance with the development of technology and the times.

Q: What new changes have taken place in the entire global industrial chain of satellite remote sensing in recent years, and what are the new changes in remote sensing processing technology?

Leng Wei: There are several trends in the industry chain recently:

First: There are more and more remote sensing satellites. The number of remote sensing satellites in orbit in 2018 is about 780, which is twice that of 2016 and three times that of 2014. In 2017, the number of remote sensing satellites launched worldwide was more than the total number of remote sensing satellites launched in 2012-2016. More and more remote sensing satellites are in the sky, which is consolidating the infrastructure for downstream remote sensing data applications.
