Shure: Aonic wireless earphones released, wireless noise-cancelling headphones and true wireless modules appear at CES

Following the boom of true wireless headphones and noise-cancelling headphones, audio manufacturer Shure officially released a series of wireless headphones called “Aonic” at CES 2020. Accompanying this series are the Aonic 215 with True Wireless Headphone Module and the Aonic 50 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones.

Like the previous SE215 with wireless module, Aonic 215 is actually a SE215 with Aonic true wireless headset module. The true wireless module uses Shure’s common mmcx interface. In addition to being compatible with the SE 215, it is also compatible with Shure or other manufacturers’ mmcx replaceable headsets.

The module also comes with a charging case. The size of the charging case is also relatively large. It is believed to be compatible with the adjustment of the ear hooks and headphones. However, this charging case still looks rough, like a true wireless charging module is hard-plugged in a headset storage bag with a zipper.

At the meeting, Shure has not announced the specific configuration for the Aonic 215. It only mentions that the single battery life of the module with the original headset is 8 hours. The module also supports the common “ambient sound mode” for users wearing headphones. You can also hear outside sounds. And this time, the headphones launched with the module should still be the same as the SE215 specifications.

In terms of pricing, the Aonic 215 is priced at $ 279, equivalent to 1,944 yuan. Not too expensive for a true wireless module with headphones. However, Shure has not announced the full configuration of the Aonic 215, so it is still too early to judge directly.

Another product is the Aonic 50 wireless noise cancelling headset.

Aonic 50 supports app settings, and there are also environmental modes common on noise-cancelling headphones. Despite being a noise-canceling headset, the Aonic 50 has only 20 hours of battery life. Although 20 hours is enough, the Aonic 50 looks a bit overshadowed by other flagship noise-cancelling headphones.

In terms of price, the Aonic 50 is priced at USD 399, which is equivalent to a contract of 2781 yuan. It is expected to be released in the spring of 2020, like the Aonic 215.
