In the fight against the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine intervened early, played a unique role and value, and contributed “Shanxi experience” to the prevention and control of the national epidemic and the treatment of patients.

Zhang Fuming, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People ’s Political Consultative Conference and vice governor of Shanxi Province, believes that with the development and popularization of modern medicine, the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine has been greatly affected and impacted, especially It is a long-term “Chinese medicine westernization” and “Westernization of traditional Chinese medicine” in higher education of traditional Chinese medicine. The enrolled students rarely have the skills of traditional Chinese medicine, and they have “congenital deficiencies” in learning traditional Chinese medicine. The professional setting artificially splits traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, medical physiology and medical skills. The curriculum is a mixture of Chinese and Western, and reduces the number of traditional Chinese medicine courses.

For this reason, Zhang Fuming made suggestions on how to reform the innovative education model and consolidate the talent base to give full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine.

First, give special enrollment policies for Chinese medicine college education. Drawing on the model of running a school for young people in colleges and universities, priority is given to selecting a group of talented and interested children with a background in Chinese medicine family history to enroll in school, and systematically cultivate from an early age. With reference to the arts enrollment method, a comprehensive scoring method of culture class + professional class (Chinese excellent traditional culture, professional foundation of Chinese medicine) is adopted for enrollment, and cultural class + quality interview is adopted for enrollment.

Second, support teaching reform in Chinese medicine colleges. To allow TCM schools to set up their own majors and curriculum systems, and to launch a batch of model textbooks that conform to the laws of TCM education and adapt to the reform and development of TCM education. Carry out modern teaching apprenticeship and other teaching model reforms, and truly train famous medical masters who can inherit traditional Chinese medicine. Set up a special project on traditional Chinese medicine in teaching reform projects and teaching achievement declarations.

Third, support the integration of medicine and education in colleges and universities of Chinese medicine. Drawing on the school model of Peking Union Medical College, highlighting clinical teaching and building a tightly integrated complex of Chinese medicine colleges and universities, Chinese medicine hospitals, and Chinese medicine research institutes. Adopt a flexible employment system, focus on and plan to hire a group of well-known experts and professors from domestic universities and private masters, experts and scholars with rich clinical experience to settle in, and fundamentally solve the problems of teachers and clinical teaching.
