In addition, WeChat public platform (public number) has also carried out many product iterations, in addition to the paid reading that we all knew before, there are many small changes.

Every update, the most anxious should be various third-party plug-in developers, often need to upgrade with the rhythm.

01 multi-level reply to the message

Let me talk about the first one, that is, the article message area that went online yesterday supports the author to reply multiple times.

If you follow the previous product rules, the author can only reply to one message after leaving a message.

And after setting to select, the message and reply will be posted to the message area together.

After the update, the author of the public account can reply to the reader ’s message in multiple levels, and the content and reply of the message can be set separately.

This design has greatly increased the number of authors’ reverse communication.

In the user scenario, the author can only reply once. If there is a supplement, you can only copy and delete the original reply content, and then reply again after the supplement.

For readers, if you add a message, you can initiate a new message.

But if the same reader leaves a message multiple times, it will be divided into multiple displays in the message area of ​​the article, and will be separated by other messages, the experience is not very good.

In comparison, the building model of the same reader and author is a better solution.

However, the WeChat public account team restrained a little this time and only opened the author to reply many times.

The reader did not enter the second reply based on the same message.

And the author ’s multiple replies will collapse after there are more than three, and readers need to manually expand to view all.

This can’t help but remind people of a scene where the author can fire serially after a spray user has finished refreshing.

One with a pistol and one with a machine gun, who do you say is powerful?

The key is that whether you go to the battlefield is still determined by the machine gun, and you can choose which bullet you want.

From a product perspective, this update of the message area is to enhance the interactive attributes of authors and readers.

If the future can open two-way multi-level reply, and one (author) to many (multi-reader) mode based on the same message, then the building of the public message area will be considered complete.

At present, it can only be regarded as a castration version of the building model.

I think that the public account team may open the one-to-many message function in the future, because in the actual scene, many readers do reply to the messages of other readers.

For example, in my articles, readers often have the theme “reply to the first floor” in their comments.

However, as the number of likes of other message changes, the original message floor order has long changed, which is very embarrassing.

Everyone knows that the newly registered public account does not have a message function. Many people think this is a WeChat decision.

In fact, for this, it does not depend on the will of the WeChat platform.

Understood naturally, so do n’t blame WeChat.

02 Article album

WeChat public account upgraded the original “page template” function to “album” in the background. There are also some new changes in new bottles and old wine.

The previous page template was like this.

In fact, it can be understood as a custom article collection page. You can set up to three top scrolling banners.

The article classification tab can be set at the bottom, and the article can be added by the author himself.

After the page template is generated, it is an independent H5 page, which supports sharing to WeChat groupAnd the circle of friends, this is the same as the current album function.

After the upgrade, a more intuitive name was changed.

To be honest, the name of the previous “page template” at first glance really didn’t know what it was for.

Because this function is still gradually in grayscale, I intercepted Feng Da ’s track story album page for reference.

As you can see, there are special album covers, titles, introductions, and article collections, as well as article release dates, readings, and selected comments.

There is another detail. The articles in the album seem to be prefixed by default.

To be honest, I think this design is a bit redundant, and the visual experience is easily mixed with the title.

For the purpose of the album function, it is actually easy to understand, nothing more than to solve the problem of long tail articles.

Because of the public account ’s product mechanism and the timeliness of articles, many published articles have become long-tailed, and are more scattered and discontinuous.

Although it can be seen in the history article with the details of the public account, it is also mixed with a lot of other information, and the experience is not very good.

The optimization of the album function requires that the selected album must be original.

This provides the author with a collection of historical high-quality articles, and also allows others to access all articles at once.

But the problem is that if you still set the album content manually, this maintenance is more troublesome.

I have set up a page template before and put the entrance in the bottom menu, but because it needs to be maintained and updated frequently, it simply drops.

I think the characteristics of the album should be more sharable and provide a better sharing experience in the circle of friends and groups.

For example, video number cards and applet cards, not just a link.

03 support link and applet publishing

Previous WeChat native publishers do not support hyperlinks and applet publishing functions.

However, it can be published through a third-party plug-in or directly write a link code.

For example, if I want to post a pure link to the push information stream, I can write link text content directly in the text message.

After the message is sent, this HTML tag code will be converted into a clickable link.

Now, WeChat has launched a native function, which can support the release of text links and applet links.

Release through the above code is no longer recognized, the source code itself is released.

In addition, after the text link is published, you can directly open it to enter the details page, and you can see the reading amount of the text link message.

This has not been possible before.

04 Article image size limit increased to 10M

In the past, the size limit for uploading pictures in the article was 5M, and now it has been increased to 10M, which is more friendly to some high-definition pictures and moving pictures.

In addition, the problem of reading experience in dark mode is particularly reminded, because in dark mode, the background of the picture’s basemap can be displayed.

To be honest, I ’m not used to the dark mode.

05 more informative readers

Before, some readers were curious how I knew how many times he admired, how many comments, and when they followed.

In fact, these data can be seen in the background.

Sometimes ago, the public account background has also updated a small function, which can be sorted according to 4 dimensions under the message of an article.

Two of them are the total number of comments and total appreciation.

This is not for an article, but for historical statistics by a single user, so it is cumulative.

It is clearer to prove whether it is the old iron true fan.

So, I am curious when I paid attention to it, and how many times I have left a message or how much I have paid.

May wish to leave a message to try, I can choose some old iron to put out.

The WeChat team has always been cautious in product iterations. Carefully verify that the steps of iterations are usually not very large.

It is worth learning by many product teams.

And their grayscale mechanism is doing very well. At the time, when I started paying for reading, I was the first batch of grayscale users on the whole network and was invited to enter the grayscale test group of the WeChat team.

The quality of users in the group is very high, and they are all in-depth users of the public account.

Familiar with the product, everyone has put forward a lot of good suggestions, and the WeChat team is actively adopting and feedback.

In addition, they responded promptly to questions.

Before I found that the message function in the public account subscription assistant is abnormal, it disappears for no reason after every reply or selection, and multiple tests have proved it can be reproduced.

After talking to their product manager, it was processed quickly and gave me a very detailed feedback result.

Positive thinking, careful verification, respect for user feedback, and timely response, this is my intuitive impression of the WeChat public account team.
