Under the epidemic, who is defending our health?

In addition to the laborious medical staff, those medical staff who detect nucleic acids for the people on the front line are also using sweat to build an invisible “Great Wall” for us.

This is the “Great Wall” closest to ordinary people.

The microscopic story in this issue tells the story of the front-line inspectors: when they are present, the viruses hidden around us will be discovered as soon as possible, and the normal rhythm of life can be guaranteed, but with protective clothing and masks, We can’t even see their faces, or their clothes soaked in sweat.

They deserve to be seen and thanked.

The following is a true story from the frontline staff of nucleic acid sampling:

I wear heat protective clothing for 12 hours and almost get heatstroke for a daily income of 300 yuan

Chen Shasha | 28 years old | Nurse in a private stomatological hospital, now a part-time nurse in nucleic acid testing

The Department of Stomatology is a high-risk department of virus transmission. After the outbreak, the stomatology departments of major hospitals have been closed, and our stomatology hospital has also closed.

Two weeks ago, my friend recommended me to do a part-time job of nucleic acid testing. This job requires high professionalism, and I am a nurse.

My previous job status has always been on duty every two days, and I have just been reduced in salary. So when I heard a friend say that I can earn 1,000 yuan a day for a nucleic acid test, I was still very excited.

I wanted to agree, but when my boyfriend heard that the group tested was a resident near Xinfa, he would not let me take this job.

He thought it was too dangerous. At that time, the new epidemic situation just broke out, and the surrounding areas were upgraded to high-risk areas.

We have been arguing about this for a week. This matter was also the bounden duty of medical staff. Now that there is a shortage of medical staff, I should come out to help.

Of course, on the other hand, I do have tight money on hand. A daily salary of 1,000 yuan can help me ease the pressure on my mortgage.

In the end, he still couldn’t stop me, watching me call my friend’s phone.

But my friend replied that the daily salary has dropped from 1,000 yuan to 300 yuan. Before, people were in a hurry, and the places they went to were dangerous, so the pay was high, and now it has been changed to 300 yuan a day.

My boyfriend thought I would refuse money, but I agreed directly on the phone.

Chen Shasha in protective clothing

My friend’s company also recruited a lot of nurses like me to work part-time, divided into two groups of (main and auxiliary mining) to Enterprises or communities conduct outsourcing.

The assistant picker is responsible for checking the recipient’s information, and pasting the barcode with the information on the corresponding test tube; the master uses a long cotton swab to sample the recipient’s throat, and puts the cotton swab with the specimen into the corresponding test tube.

Finally, the assistant will cover the test tubes and arrange them in order, even if the sampling is completed.

Inspectors are collecting pharyngeal swab specimens

It looks simple, but the actual operation is still quite hard.

The most difficult thing is heat. From 9 am to 5 pm, we need to wear airtight protective clothing all the time. If there are many people catching up with the collection, you often need to work overtime, postponing 2 to 3 hours off work is also a common thing.

Nucleic acid detection team near the community

Beijing hasn’t been down 30 degrees since June. Wearing protective clothing at this temperature is just like steaming a sauna.

Once we went to a larger community for sampling, and the total number of people was close to 1,000. I went out at 7 o’clock and started collecting at 8:30 on the ground. I hadn’t collected 500 people until noon.

Lunch lunch prepared by the company for testing personnel

In order to catch up with today’s ability to complete the collection task, my assistant and I compressed the lunch time and only drank a bottle of water, simply dealt with some food.

The collection time on that day lasted until 5:30 in the afternoon. After the collection, we had to check the information, the number of collections, packing, and return the samples to the company.

Warehouse inventory materials

Finally, I arrived at about 7:30 and worked for more than 12 hours. When I got home, my entire body collapsed, my head hurts, and I felt like I had a heat stroke. I was sweaty enough to wring out my clothes.

My boyfriend felt so distressed that I was so disappointed, and advised me not to do it, saying that it’s too worthwhile to get tired for three hundred dollars.

But I am not really for the 300 yuan. I am a nurse, and this is my duty.

The epidemic is still spreading. Every medical staff is on the front line. As a nurse, I should take this responsibility even more.

Speak a few thousand words a day and don’t care about drinking water, and take 2000 arms to sample

Chai Li | 31 years old | Marketing manager of genetic testing company, now mainly responsible for sampling site management

In April, our company opened nucleic acid testing to the society, and it was one of the first batch of institutions that provided the new crown testing to the society officially announced by the Health and Health Commission.

Everything was in order at that time, the epidemic situation was basically controlled, everyone resumed work one after another, and the number of people we tested every day was not very large.

After more than a month, the epidemic broke out in the new place. Subsequently, the state stipulated that it must have a nucleic acid test certificate within 7 days after leaving Beijing.

In the past few days, my phone was broken, and various customers, friends, and acquaintances came to ask me where to do nucleic acid testing. At the same time, the task of nucleic acid detection in our company skyrocketed overnight.

To what extent? Every department must send people to support.

Nucleic acid sampling requires a professional qualification, that is, a nurse card. Our company has allocated all employees with a nurse card.

It happened that my nurse’s card had just expired and I couldn’t do sampling at the front line, so I was sent to the tent for on-site management.

outdoor tent for nucleic acid detection

There are two types of nucleic acid sampling:

1. Outsourcing: We go to designated companies and communities to collect samples for these people.

2. Tent: tents were set up in the streets, parks, squares, etc. near the company to sample for people who made voluntary appointments.

Every day I will be responsible for taking inventory of the materials needed from the company in advance and transporting them to the tent.

Chai Li picks tents outside to maintain order on site

At about eight o’clock, someone came to the tent to check.

At this time, I need to organize them to line up, register, scan and fill in information, explain the sampling process, and answer various questions of the recipient.

The staff who organize samples in the tent

Starting at more than eight in the morning, my mouth never stops. The tent samples an average of 500 to 800 people a day, and a few sentences have to be repeated a thousand or two thousand times.

My throat started hoarse on the third day, my throat was swollen, and my throat was sore.

In order to reduce the pain a few times, I don’t want to drink water. It’s such a vicious circle. Until now I stopped testing and my throat hurts.

On-site staff of community nucleic acid extraction

Of course, I’m not complaining about my tiredness. The people who sample are really hard.

They wear protective clothing and repeat this action throughout the day: one person picks twice, and 1000 people picks 2000 times, which is equivalent to raising the arm 2000 times.

People who line up to detect nucleic acids

When I saw them take off their protective clothing, sweat soaked the clothes inside them, and they could not even lift their arms.

I was thinking, I must insist on being tired, at least after I manage it in an orderly way, their work can be smoother and less sinful.

Noon staff take a short break to eat, only then can take off protective clothing for a while

Everyone is on the same line and has common enemies. If you want to win this battle, you must look after each other.

The test sample needs to be delivered by a special person, and the most tired when sleeping for 3 hours a day

Li Liang | 41 years old | General manager driver, now mainly responsible for picking up and sampling people, transporting specimens

I was originally a full-time driver of the general manager, responsible for picking up and leaving the leaders to go out and attend important meetings.

Recently, 4 leading drivers including me, 1 warehouse driver, and 2 new drivers were recruited to support nucleic acid testing.

Nucleic acid test samples are special items. The storage and transportation of specimens will directly affect the accuracy of the test results, so special personnel are required to deliver them.

I not only have to send the sampler and materials to the test point, but also have to run the hospital to send the previous test samples non-stop, and it will be time for the test staff to get off work again after running one or two hospitals.

Recently, I go out almost every morning from 5 to 6 in the morning. I often work overtime until early in the morning, and I keep running on the road in the middle. There is hardly any rest time.

Every morning, I need to send the sampler and materials to the testing point together. After sending the person to the testing point, I must run to the hospital non-stop. Basically, one or two hospitals should go to the testing point to pick up people.

After sampling, not only people and specimens are brought back, but also a lot of medical waste.

Therefore, every time you send someone back, the car also needs to be disinfected. If there are many people sampling on this day, we have to wait at the scene for how many nights.

Medical waste generated during the morning collection needs to be pulled back for centralized processing and disinfection

If I met the picking out of two locations in the afternoon and afternoon, I would have no time for lunch.

When a diagnosis is made in a new place, a maximum of 3,000 people will be sampled a day, and it will be at 12 am after sampling.

When I bring people and specimens back, sterilize the car, I get home at 2 am, and after 3 hours of sleep, I should get up and go.

nucleic acid testing team at Xinfadi

I’m tired, I don’t have any complaints. Everyone is working hard to fight the epidemic. Our hard work can get the safety of the city, which is really nothing.
