1. Me and “Secondary 2”
Q: Use three keywords to describe yourself?
Youth, blood, energy.
Q: How did you become an e-sports photographer?
Actually, I always wanted to be an eSports player.
The dreams that people have not fulfilled in childhood will be the hope of a lifetime, which also determines that I will be engaged in this industry later.
In the beginning, I used the i-power to shoot e-sports. It was not until 2012 that I was able to solve the food and clothing problem by taking pictures, and I really took it as a career.
Q: Will the work status change after working for so long?
I am probably the one who has changed the least in this industry, even less than the players. Players will also transform into coaches. I have never done anything other than photography.
Someone also suggested that I set up a company and set up a one-village industry, but it turned out that I prefer photography and photography itself.
Q: Would you like to actively seek change?
Some time ago, I took a photo of a player, the top order 369 of (TES team). I said you want to change the shape Want to be cooler? This kid is in the second grade, so he said to me: I don’t need to change.
This sentence completely ignited me, and this is my answer. I don’t think I need to change my feelings of passion and S2. I will always feel young when I shoot e-sports.

Q: Why did you change “Hot Blood” to “Secondary 2”?
Because Secondary Two is more precise.

Q: What is the biggest difficulty encountered in photography?
Many people say that taking pictures is difficult, but for me, taking pictures is the easiest thing, and things other than taking pictures are more difficult.
Nowadays, e-sports photography has become more and more like wedding photography, with many processes and more routines. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t take moving pictures. The key is to understand who you are shooting for.
It’s not enough to target the service target to players alone. There are capital and advertising…I can’t say whether I like it or not, but I am learning to adapt to it.
Q: What are the criteria for a good photo?
A photo that can transmit energy is a good photo.
I will have memories when I see it, I can feel his story, or be moved, and this photo is a success.
Q: How to practice such a “photography pursuit”?
The fire in your heart cannot be extinguished. If you don’t have energy, it is difficult to pass it out. To be more concrete is that when I have energy, I will be willing to wait an extra second, wait an extra second, and observe more. When I don’t have energy, I may finish the list and finish off work. The difference is actually quite big.
Q: Have you become familiar with shooting large-scale events for so long?
The player will pass on his feelings to me, so I get nervous every time I go on stage, but this kind of nervousness can also help me.
My shooting is almost semi-planned. No matter how well the technology and list preparation is, there will always be unexpected things. The only thing you can do is to keep your attention and try to connect the stories of the past to look at something from a higher dimension.Confrontation between two players.
Q: S10, your work was exhibited at Shanghai Metro Station. Did you go to see it live? How does it feel?
I feel that the enlarged photo is still pretty good. (laughs)
Looking on the phone, watching it on the computer, and watching it live is totally different. I went to the scene twice, one time and one time, I saw a lot of young people making remakes. I felt the influence of the game culture on our generation of young people and felt that my work was quite valuable.
Q: Do you often listen to fans’ feedback on your work?
Of course it will, even if it’s bad feedback, it’s helpful. I will also go to Weibo to collect feedback and supplement my brain.
Actually, the term “fans” is not appropriate. I have never regarded them as fans. I think they are “players”. In my opinion, the player is the most important in the League of Legends ecology or game ecology.
3. Players and friends
Q: Will you try to comfort him if you see the player sad during the shooting?
When filming, I never thought about recording alone, because I was also in the event.
The players lose the game and have nowhere to go. They used to watch from a distance, but now they will actively try to help them. Some people say that too much involvement of photographers is not good. But for me, I am their friend first and the photographer second.
Q: Who are your friends in the circle? What will we talk about outside the stadium?
Clearlove, he sent me a message before the interview and asked me if I went to work out. Brother Saint Gun, likes to talk about sorrow, we often exchange experience in chasing stars. And for example, Baolan, people are very nice, and I am willing to chat with people… The relationship between me and the players is never the kind of mutual need you imagine, but based on common interests. I didn’t make an appointment deliberately, but I was no stranger to meeting.
Q: Have you ever thought about the off-court life of focusing the camera on the players?
I don’t plan to do this, because outside of the event, many players don’t want to be recorded. And I am not too curious about their lives (laughs).
When I leave the field, I prefer to use the camera to record things or scenery I am interested in.
4. Industry and fans
Q: More and more capital is involved in the industry, how do you view commercialization?
Any industry needs to develop, and everyone must eat their food first. Practitioners have more income, players have more motivation to play games, and games have more exposure, forming a virtuous circle.
His only problem is that too much shooting will affect the training state of the players. Especially in the e-sports circle, heroes are judged by success or failure. The team did not get good results, even if the packaging is good, the fans do not pay.
This circle is more willing to pay more for the results.
Q: Many people say that the e-sports industry is becoming more and more “rivaled”. Do you agree?
I don’t really understand the term “fan circle”. But it is true that when we receive more exposure and attention, we cannot avoid the influx of a large number of values, both good and bad voices.
Some of our shining points and values will resonate, and then these resonances will evoke another resonance.
Q: What do you think of people who don’t understand games but are very interested in players and events?
I started to try to understand them as star chasing, but I felt that they were not the same as star chasing. Because I really appreciate the works more when I chase stars. Feeling energy from a stranger may be short-lived.
But I also understand part of it. As mentioned earlier, e-sports has its second-tier aspect, projecting people’s dreams and passion. The need for spiritual sustenance is something everyone has.
Q: What do you think of the “rhythm” of the chattering in the gaming circle?
Everyone has the desire to pass on their thoughts. This is human nature.
What I don’t understand is why some people like to treat their opinions as the only point of view, especially when what you say is harmful to others. It may also be related to age. Teens have a strong desire for expression. But I hope everyone can be more kind, because some words are really hurtful.

Q: Do you think LPL is the first division?
From the perspective of the entire ecology, we are still learning and adjusting.

Q: Is there anything you “dislike” in the gaming circle?
What I don’t like is that most people are still using love to generate electricity. Only a small number of people can slowly solve the food and clothing problem and get a better income.

Q: You said that e-sports is based on success or failure, so is it a failure to not win the championship?
From the perspective of the competition, it is indeed a winner. But from a personal point of view, success is not defined purely by the market and the outside world.

My own values and market judgments are actually not contradictory. When your value grows to a certain point, your price will slowly catch up, but don’t let go of the value growth early.
