Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan has developed a non-contact button that allows you to enter the floor you want to go to by just approaching the elevator with your hand. It has been available as an optional accessory in February, and its sales have been expanded in March. Regarding buttons that can be used without contact, elevator manufacturers FUJITEC, Hitachi, etc. have taken the lead in launching products, and Mitsubishi Electric also intends to seize the rising non-contact demand due to the new crown epidemic.

Mitsubishi Electric has added a non-contact button to the standard elevator “AXIEZ-LINKs”. The button can capture the subtle changes in electrical characteristics when the hand is stretched out, and it will react when the hand is close to 1.2 cm from the button. It is said that if it is a non-contact button that uses an infrared sensor method, a window for detecting the sensor needs to be set on the button, and this product can be used without changing the appearance of the button.

In terms of other manufacturers, Fujitec has taken the lead in launching non-contact buttons in April 2020.

When Mitsubishi Electric developed its products, it was envisaged to be used in medical institutions and pharmaceutical factories with strict hygiene management, and consultations for epidemic prevention purposes have also increased sharply. At present, the market for high-rise buildings has been expanded. Due to the high demand, other manufacturers have also launched non-contact buttons.
