On August 21st, WeChat and Samsung Mobile jointly announced the first system-level cooperation, launching the “negative one-screen card” and “WeChat applet side screen” two shortcuts to open small programs. It is similar to the “small program taskbar” in WeChat, but you don’t need to open WeChat, just click “right slide” or “left pull” on the Samsung mobile phone desktop to experience the out-of-the-box, one-step small program service.
WeChat is carrying out a series of actions to shorten the use of small programs, cultivate user habits, improve the retention and accessibility of small programs, and systematically cooperate with mobile phone manufacturers, which will undoubtedly make this process a step further.

My colleague Jason is a user of the Samsung S10+. He told me that he did use the “negative screen” and “sidebar” direct access to the applet function six months ago.
Samsung mobile phone “negative screen” can set a variety of shortcut cards, WeChat applet shortcut card can display 5 small programs, they come from the top 5 of the user’s “recently used” applet, arranged according to the user’s most recently used order. After clicking the applet icon, you can jump directly to the applet page.

After Samsung introduced a curved screen mobile phone, the sidebar shortcuts became more and more useful. Users swiped left on the upper right side of the screen to call out popular apps, contacts, and information.
The function of opening the applet in the sidebar is similar. After sliding to the left, you can display 10 commonly used applets from the top 10 of the user’s favorite My Apple. In WeChat, users can set the sort of “My Applet” to determine if they appear in the sidebar and in the sidebar.
