Huawei officially announced today that the Shengteng 910 has exceeded the preset technical specifications and has been used for actual AI training tasks. Shengteng 910 is a server-oriented AI chip, which is based on the Invid and Google products, using DaVinci architecture, 7nm process, half-precision computing power of 256 TFLOPS, applied to Huawei Cloud.
Xu Zhijun said that the test results show that the Shengteng 910 fully meets the design specifications, that is, the half-precision reaches 256 TFLOPS and the integer precision reaches 512 TOPS. Moreover, the power required to achieve the specification power is only 310W, which is significantly lower than the designed 350W.
According to Xu Zhijun, in the training of ResNet-50 network (a network model), the Shengteng 910 cooperates with MindSpore, compared with the existing mainstream training single card with TensorFlow (an open source AI learning framework). Shows nearly 2x performance improvement. The number of pictures trained per second has increased from 965 to 1,802.
Huawei also introduced the progress of the Shengteng 310. Shengteng 310 is a 12nm process, which is a low-power chip with a maximum power consumption of only 8W, can be used for smart phones, smart accessories, smart watches and other equipment.
At present, Huawei has released Atlas, MDC products and cloud services based on the Shengteng 310. At present, MDC and domestic and foreign mainstream car manufacturers have cooperated in the scenes of park bus, new energy vehicles and automatic driving. Huawei cloud image analysis service, OCR service, video analysis service, and over 50+ APIs have been based on the Shengteng 310 service, with an average daily call volume of more than 100 million times, and it is growing rapidly. It is expected that the daily average call volume will exceed 300 million times at the end of the year. .
In addition to the AI chip, Huawei also released the MindSpore framework. Xu Zhijun said that on the basis of the TensorFlow and PyTorch frameworks in the industry, Huawei is also launching a new framework because does not have any existing framework to support the full scenario, while Huawei’s business covers terminals, clouds and edges. Huawei needs a framework that supports the full scenario to lower the threshold for AI application development. Xu Zhijun said that the MindSpore framework has been optimized with the Ascension processor, overcoming the complexity of AI calculations and the diversity of computing power, achieving efficient operation and greatly improved Calculated performance.
