This is Huawei’s definition of their first TV product, the Glory Smart Screen.

As the first TV product launched by Huawei, Glory Smart Screen did not choose a very aggressive size. Instead, I chose to enter the attackable bedroom and retreat to the 55-inch living room.

In appearance, the appearance of the glory smart screen Pro is not much different from that of a normal smart TV, and this familiar feeling continues until after the screen is lit.

After booting up, the Hongmeng system on the smart screen is very similar in interface and menu logic to the well-known smart TV system.

The home page shows popular movie recommendations, history portals, and popular app portals. Hongmeng also directly integrates mainstream content platforms such as Youku Cool and Mango TV into the system, and users can directly access the applications without downloading these platforms.

When Huawei released the smart screen, it was said that the smart screen is not only the entertainment center of the family, but also the information sharing center, the control management center and the multi-device interaction center of the family. This is reflected in the “My Home” page of the system.

On this page, users can view family albums, make quick video calls, create messages for family members, and quickly control smart home appliances at home. As for the specific experience of these features,Let’s talk later.

It is worth mentioning that one of the highlights of the glory wisdom screen is that there is no advertisement at boot. It may not be particularly noticeable when you first start using it, but when you use other smart TVs and you need to wait for a long boot ad to enter the interface, you will really realize the excitement of booting without ads.

As projectors are gradually being released from commercial use to homes, the battle for the status of home projectors and televisions has officially begun.

I have recently moved, and I have been entangled in the need to add a projector or a TV. Finally, for better quality, I chose the latter.

Of course, it is not that the quality of the projector must be comparable to that of the TV, but at the same price level, the latter generally has difficulty in finding other disadvantages besides being small in size. For the Glory Smart Screen Pro, the audiovisual experience is one of its advantages with the same price TV products.

In a nutshell, this technique is to make the picture smoother by estimating the motion trajectory of the object, creating and compensating for images that are not in the video itself.

Because the creation of images is actually a kind of “out of nothing” technology, in fact, there is a great demand for the computing power of TV chips, so it is difficult to see the emergence of this technology on TVs of the same price.

There are two other indicators that are also important for home TV, one for maximum brightness and the other for viewing angle. The glory smart screen Pro has a maximum brightness of 400 nit. For those who have a balcony or floor-to-ceiling window next to the living room, the TV screen can be clearly seen even during the day when the light is sufficient.

With a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees, you can also let the three or five friends come to your home. You can see the contents of the TV no matter which angle you are sitting on.

As far as audio is concerned, the Glory Smart Screen Pro is equipped with six 10W speakers, and also integrates Huawei’s own Histen sound technology to support sound field expansion, dialogue enhancement, intelligent bass, and loudness adaptation.

Although Huawei did not mention it too much during the promotion at the last level of the conference, we learned that these 6 speakers actually use 2 full-range sound units + 2 Japanese silk diaphragm high-frequency sounds. The full-range speaker also adopts the dual-magnetic circuit + short-circuit ring design of the main and auxiliary magnets to provide high dynamic vibration force while ensuring low distortion and good high-frequency extension.

The last is the source and application aspects.

First of all, in the Bring Your Own System, Glory Smart Screen has integrated mainstream content platforms such as Tencent Aurora TV, Youku Cool, Mango TV. After opening Huawei video members, you can watch dozens of 4K movies and nearly a thousand HDR 10 movies.

As far as the application is concerned, the smart screen running the new Hongmeng system currently only supports downloading apps in the app store and does not support external installation. But unfortunately, in the app store, the application that adapts the system is not rich.

What is the duty of the TV, what can you do on the smart screen?

At the press conference, Glory said that this smart screen product is not TV, but the future of TV. So, after the smart screen strips off the functions that smart TV can do, what other experience can it bring to the user?

Glory Smart Screen Pro is equipped with a camera that supports 1080P video calls. Like the popular mobile phone industry, this camera also uses a lift design.

Huawei always has his own opinion on how to place a camera. Notebook products MateBook X Pro is a good example. Integrating the camera that was originally on the screen into the keyboard, this does result in a higher screen ratio, but the picture during the video call is not so elegant: the nose is always directed at others.

The camera on the TV also made me have similar concerns. If the TV is wall mounted, will the camera only shoot my forehead?

Obviously, engineers are aware of this, and in order to avoid this problem, Glory Smart Screen Pro will have a downward tilt of 10 degrees after the camera is raised in wall-mounted mode to ensure the best video. .

In the actual experience, although the 1080P camera can’t let the parents who are far away at home see the white hair you just grew up, but the recent crazy overtime has caused the tiredness of the face to hold them at a glance. Look out.

Another thing to be reminded is that, unlike mobile video, using a smart screen for video calls, the secrets in your background can’t be hidden. What do you mean? Because the screen is relatively large, the video will generally stand far away. At this time, in addition to the tiredness of your face, your parents can easily see the takeaway on your coffee table and the finished on the sofa. Washed socks.

Of course, if the smart screen is placed in the parents’ home, the situation will be a bit different. The screen mode of Glory Smart Screen is divided into two types, one is full mobile phone image projection screen, and the other is DLNA image and video projection screen. The former is to project all the content displayed on the mobile phone to the TV, while the latter will only put the pictures or videos displayed on your mobile phone in full screen on the TV to avoid leaking sensitive information.

Interestingly, the system recognizes the user’s usage scenarios and then intelligently determines which screencasting method is required: when the screen is enabled on a mobile phone desktop or a large application such as a game, a full phone image is used. Screening; when the screen is enabled under the album and video software, only the above-mentioned DLNA image video projection will be enabled.

In the launch mode of the screen, in addition to the traditional opening on the phone, Huawei also added a “magic flash” function.

Glory Smart Screen Pro comes with a sticker in the package, but this sticker is not for decoration. After attaching the sticker to the remote control or any other place, put the mobile phone (only supported by EMUI 9.1 and above and NFC-equipped Huawei/Glory mobile phone) with the sticker on the back, and the smart screen will immediately enter the projection mode.

The whole startup process is less than two seconds, and the operation is very simple and natural. Personally think that it should be regarded as the best screen launching method in the industry.
