On August 27th, before the US stock market, Momo released the second quarter performance report for 2019. The financial report showed that Mo Mo Q2’s net revenue was 4.15 billion yuan, slightly higher than market expectations, with a year-on-year growth rate of 32%, a slight increase from the previous quarter’s 27%. Not in accordance with the US General Accounting Standards, the net profit was 1.24 billion yuan, nearly double the market expectation (685.6 million yuan).

The sources of revenue from Momo are live broadcast services, value-added services, advertising and mobile games. The live broadcast business has accounted for more than 70% of total revenue. During the quarter, live service revenue increased by 18% year-on-year to approximately RMB 3.1 billion, a significant increase from the previous quarter’s 8%. Officially attributed to the increase in the average revenue of paid users on the platform and per paying users.

As of June 2019, Momo had a total of 11.8 million paying users (including live video members and value-added service members), including 3.2 million explorers. However, compared with the same period of last year, this user index of Momo has a very limited increase, which is related to the failure to provide download and payment services from the application store in April.
