Less than a week after the launch of Evergrande’s new energy vehicle brand “Hengchi”, Evergrande has made new moves.
On September 2nd, Evergrande and Germany’s BENTELER Group and Germany’s FEV Group held a new energy vehicle 3.0 chassis architecture intellectual property handover ceremony at the headquarters of Shenzhen Evergrande, which means that Evergrande once mastered the 3.0 chassis architecture. At the same time, it also announced that “Hengchi” will be built based on the world-class chassis architecture.
The 3.0 chassis architecture introduced by Evergrande was developed by German BENTELER Group and FEV Group for three and a half years. It integrates advanced power system, suspension system, control system and braking system, and is at the leading level in the industry.
It is reported that the chassis structure of the new energy vehicle has experienced three stages of technology development: 1.0 chassis architecture is the “oil to power” chassis architecture; 2.0 chassis architecture is pure electric chassis architecture; 3.0 chassis architecture is based on pure power platform Highly integrated with world-leading technologies such as powertrain, suspension, control and brake systems through modular design, it is the world-class pure electric chassis architecture.
This time, through the capital operation, the core technology is included in the bag, which still continues the inherent path of Evergrande. Ever since its announcement into the automotive industry, Evergrande has initiated several mergers and acquisitions and cooperation: cooperated with German Hofer, and then has the world-class three-in-one powertrain core technology; cooperated with Sweden’s Koenigsegg and has the world The core technology of R&D and manufacturing of the luxury car; the acquisition of the Dutch e-traction and the British Protean, with the core technology of the leading wheel motor representing the development direction of the powertrain.
In order to seize the development window of the new energy automobile industry, Evergrande chose to shorten the research and development cycle and quickly seize the market through capital operation. From the current point of view, this practice of capital-for-time has already begun to bear fruit. Earlier, Evergrande management revealed at the interim results conference that the new model of Evergrande’s cooperation with world-class sports car brand Koenigsegg will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020.
Although Evergrande has embarked on the fast track of development by virtue of its capital strength, the success of “Hengchi” will require the final test of the market.
