“Charging for 5 minutes, talking for 2 hours”, this year’s advertising word fires all over the Yangtze River in the north and south of the Great Wall, and now, such charging and battery life performance, in the smart phone industry is not a leader. Then there was the 50W SuperVOOC technology used in Find X and R17 Pro last year, which can fill a mobile phone experience in 35 minutes, and still lead today.

When VOOC flash charging technology became a sign of OPPO, it did not stand still, even if the leading 50W SuperVOOC still needs to improve, so there is today’s conference.

At today’s technology conference, OPPO has released three technologies to the VOOC flash charger family: SuperVOOC 2.0 with a maximum charging power of 65W, wireless VOOC flash charging with a maximum charging power of 30W and VOOC 4.0.

First look at the fastest commercial speed of SuperVOOC 2.0, OPPO has recently confirmed, Reno Ace released on the 10th next month will launch this charging technology. Compared to the SuperVOOC with a 35-minute battery filled with 3400mAh, the charging speed of SuperVOOC 2.0 is accelerated again. OPPO has been spoiled by the fact that it can be filled with Reno Ace for 30 minutes, while Reno Ace’s battery capacity is expected to be around 4000mAh.

SuperVOOC 2.0 still uses the previous generation dual-cell SuperVOOC direct charging architecture. This time, the charging voltage is still 10V, and the current is increased from the previous generation 5A to 6.5A. The dual-cell series structure makes each battery charge 5V. It is still the low voltage, high current and fast charge of VOOC flash charging.

The difference is that this time, SuperVOOC 2.0 is equipped with a new semiconductor material – GaN (gallium nitride), which improves the charging efficiency, reduces heat generation, and effectively shortens the charging time. Reduce the size of the adapter. The cell and interface technology on the mobile phone side has been further improved to help improve charging efficiency and reduce heat generation during charging.

The end result is that after using 65W SuperVOOC 2.0, the original “charge for 5 minutes, call 2 hours” will become “charge 5 minutes, black for 2 hours.”

In the early days of 4G, there weren’t many entertainment apps for smartphone users to use. People are not as addicted to games and videos as they are today, and the battery life pressure is not as big as it is now. However, standing in the future of the 4G tail 5G, it really needs a faster charging speed to appease the more expensive power consumers.

OPPO made a big killer for the first time to do wireless charging: 30W wireless VOOC flash charging, this power is flush with the wireless charging technology released by Xiaomi recently.

OPPO says that under this charging technology, the equivalent 4000mAh battery energy can be charged to 100% in 80 minutes. This charging efficiency is almost the same as OPPO’s own existing VOOC flash charging speed. And it is also compatible with the Qi standard, supporting 5W, 10W two-speed charging power.

The last release was VOOC 4.0 technology. Since 2014, VOOC flash charging technology has been evolving. This time VOOC 4.0 has a higher charging power: 30W. It can charge the 4000mAh battery to 67% in 30 minutes and 100% in 73 minutes, which is 12% shorter than the previous generation technology.

At the same time, it is also backward compatible with the previous VOOC flash charging protocol, which can get 5V4A (20W) full-load charging power. Similar to SuperVOOC 2.0 in Reno Ace next month, VOOC 4.0 will also be launched next month. On the K5 mid-range machine.
