A popular life on the Internet is now called “Wastewood Life.” Many people are imagining a Utopia: I hope that I will live a life of “pork free” and “waste wood.”

What is “waste wood”?

Knowing a netizen describes his life status:

Sleep every morning to wake up naturally, play games at one or two in the evening, 28-year-old fat house, no job, no skills, no hobbies, no ideals, no social… Of course, no girlfriend.

This is probably the most reasonable interpretation of waste wood. It is the ideal of many people to live a life of waste wood, but in reality, most people still want to move and become a target person.

Trust me, when you set your goals, it won’t be late.

2014In the year, Scalers set a goal – to write an article every day and continue to act for 1,000 days. By 2016, his creative manuscript had accumulated more than 1 million words.

In the 2018 World Book Day, Xinhua News Agency recommended 20 must-read books to readers. The “Deliberate Learning” ranked seventh, and the first one was the “Talking about Governing the Country” series.

The Socket Academy invited Scalers to tell the story behind his writing and his understanding of growth. The following is the Scalers self-reported, slightly edited by the socket author.

“My growth has no tags, Tags don’t define me”

When writing the two books “Deliberate Learning” and “Continuous Action”, I did not deliberately plan for future growth, but deliberately planned what to do every day.

I am the proponent and practitioner of the “N-order continuous action” theory. The Nth order refers to the number of days in which the base N is a power to express the continuous action. The higher the order, the more difficult it is to continue.

Basically, everyone can continue to move to the first level in the case of chicken blood, that is, insist on 10 days; some people will stick to the second order, what can be done in 100 days?

A few days ago, the hit drama “Little Joy” said that 100 days can save a school slag.

The third order is more difficult. One thing to insist on for 1000 days is to take things that we are very willing to do. For example, in the case of falling in love, few people can stick to 1000 days because no one wants to With TA.

It cannot be denied that people who insist on long-termism in learning and action are often more likely to succeed than those who live in fragmentation.

When many people self-export, they will label themselves, and I will not deliberately label myself. To a certain extent, labels can simplify understanding and help others understand us more quickly, but they also produce stereotypes. And people are changing, especially those who continue to act.

If I have to use a word to express some of my own qualities, I feel that it is the ability to continue and do something.

I don’t think I am a smart person. In the age of reading, what my classmates can understand quickly, I have to wait a little while to realize that I can get started, digest it a little bit, and always be half a beat slower than others. . Slowly doing things becomes my style.

Things that are done slowly, it takes a longer time to produce an effect, which in turn seems to be very sustainable.

In this scenario,Not being smart is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes smart people, do something interesting, and then don’t do it, just try it.

I accept this style of my own in solving major problems.

A lot of big things, good or bad, are the result of time precipitation. The advantages and disadvantages are all part of the growth. If you feel that there is a bad place, you can correct it in time. But don’t ignore or escape this imperfection.

A lot of people have this kind of confusion: Why did you learn so much, but still can’t understand? Why did you act for a long time, or did you have a qualitative leap? Why have you worked hard for so long, or have you not seen growth and gains?

This is often because you haven’t seen yourself. Confused people generally stop learning, and those who stop learning will generally become “wastewood.”

But even if you really want to “waste wood,” you have to make a fire-resistant wood.

One thing can’t be done for 1000 days,It stretches to 2000 days

The book “Deliberate Learning” was originally written to commemorate my 1000-day continuous action. I started writing on January 1, 2014 and completed the first 1000 days in September 2016.

This is about 1 million words of writing material, which I used in my first book. I wrote the article’s starting date under some articles. I think this is a testimony.

Before 2014, I thought writing was a super difficult thing, let alone writing a book.

But then I found out in the 1000-day action that I could brute it.

This is a process of decomposing tasks. If you can’t complete a 1 million-word article in a short period of time, you can stretch it to 1000 days. If you have 1000 days, you can get it in 2000 days.

Regardless of 1000 days or 2000 days, you need to use “continuous action” to crack.

How to “continue action”?

I have been sharing the “Double System Theory” of “Continuous Action + Deliberate Learning” in our community since 2015: Mobile Systems and Learning Systems.

I think that personal growth is inseparable from learning and action. Just like walking on two legs, it must be staggered at the same time. The output of the mobile system is continuous action, and the output of the learning system is deliberate learning.

I have been in action since 2014 and have been exporting until 2016. From 20From the beginning of 17 years to 2019, it is the second “1000 days” of my continuous action. Through continuous input, I will absorb the essence of various fields.

So, in 2017, I took a reading project called “Getting Up Early and Learning Now”. Read an hour’s book every morning, and then immediately tell what you see.

These books cover a wide range of topics, including political philosophy, story creation, psychology, communication, marketing, as well as “War Theory”, “Capital”, “The Wealth of Nations”, “Securities Analysis”, etc. Big head. With these classic works, I feel that my mood, vision, and pattern have a new upgrade.

So from the perspective of personal growth, you will continue to act, deliberately learn, and stick to it. It will be quite meaningful to look back after three or five years.

In fact, continuous action is not only suitable for personal growth. In terms of company growth, starting a company, we must continue to act, because we must continue to make money, continue to generate revenue, and continue to expand the market, so that your plate can become bigger, you can give your employees a better In the future, everyone will follow you and have a good future.

The gap between people and people is not only insisting on things that most people can’t insist on, but also continuing to do things that most people don’t do, can’t do, can’t do, and you not only do, but also Keep doing it.

This way, even stupid people will stand out.

No one is the perfect person,Accept your own imperfections

Many people say that life has its ups and downs. Why do we feel the ups and downs because the expectations do not match the actual ones.

But continuous action is a continuous and steady process that includes both the smoothness of quantity and the smoothness of growth. Continuous action can make our life and work constantly adjust and correct within the boundaries, and find our baseline to know the world and know ourselves.

With the baseline, we can quickly find our way out of the volatility and not feel the bumps of strong ups and downs.

My first book, Deliberate Learning, is to commemorate my 1000-day continuous action. The book uses some of the landmark articles written in the past 1000 days, and also specifically added the writing date of the article at the end of the article. At that time, some readers did not understand that this was an “outdated article” and that I did not treat the reader with all sincerity.

At that time, I felt aggrieved. After all, more than half of the books were newly written, but because there were several articles that marked the date of creation, they were considered to be “all articles using the public number.”

But I will understand later, in fact, I still have not done well enough. After all, no one will say that the article in Lu Xun’s Complete Works is outdated, but it will be true classic!

So when I created “Continuous Action,” I started with blank documents, typing one line at a time, and finally writing 140,000 words into a book.

When this “Continuous Action” came out, I noticed that there were still people who said “all articles using the public number.”

At this time, I suddenly understood that since you got the work, you have to stand the test. Since you put the work out, the reader can evaluate it with whatever he wants to say, whether it is reasonable or not, whether it is closed eyes or not.

Good works can satisfy the author’s needs in as many dimensions as possible. This time I have improved more than before. This is a victory for continuous action and deliberate learning.

Looking at the world with such a state of mind, in fact, it will not fluctuate in the unexpected environment. After all, there are counts. And this will have unexpected gains.

In April 2019, China Jiaojian bought 23,000 copies of “Deliberate Learning” and gave them all employees of the company’s engineering projects in more than 30 provinces across the country. China Jiaojian is a central enterprise. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Beijing Daxing Airport are all involved in the construction of this company.

Don’t be afraid of other people’s criticism, hear more constructive opinions, accept your own imperfections, this is a dynamic perspective. As long as there is continuous action, we can slowly improve. As long as we don’t leave the table, we will have a chance to turn over.

Editing the episode

Continue to do one thing, don’t say 1000 days, many people say it is impossible for 10 days. Someone asked Scalers, “When you can’t stop, how would you motivate yourself?”

Scalers said: “I can’t help but go to sleep, young people don’t stay up late.

For the future, Scalers rarely make big plans, and he insists on planning only what he can do now. Even though he told the reader so much, he added a sentence at the end of the interview:

“Don’t blindly follow the advice of any ‘come over,’ no suggestions can replace your own thinking and the lessons learned from practice.”

This is very important.
