On October 15, 2019, Ren Zhengfei accepted interviews with some media in Northern Europe, including: Swedish National Television, Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, Finnish National Public Service Broadcasting Corporation, Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Swedish Business Daily, Finland Helsinki Daily 》.

Ren Zhengfei In this interview, impromptu created a new term: employee capitalism. He said that Wall Street is a major shareholder of capitalism, and Huawei employees are a small number of shares, can not be a monopoly, belong to the “no three not four” doctrine, temporarily called – employee capitalism. “(this stock) is equivalent to retirement benefits, allowing him to maintain certain living conditions after retirement. He has some supplements when he is sick. Medical expenses.”

Ren Zhengfei also revealed that Huawei’s production of smartphones in 2019 will reach 270 million units. On October 23, Huawei’s 5G terminal and full-scenario new product launch conference, Huawei announced that global mobile phone shipments in 2019 have exceeded 200 million units.

In the interview, Ren Zhengfei elaborated a lot of new ideas:

——Why can we succeed more than others? The American money went to Wall Street, and the European money was given to everyone to drink coffee. We use all our money to invest in the future.

——We have never done bad things, no matter how we set them up, we may get opportunities.

——I promise to the Nordic people that we respect the national sovereignty of the Nordic countries and will not infringe on sovereignty.

——Why are we developing so fast? First, we have money. Second, the decision-making is very simple. There are not many shareholders in the capital market who are noisy every day. When they are noisy, this era has passed.

——Indolence, enjoyment, is a rich disease.

Ren Zhengfei accepts interviews with Nordic media

October 15, 2019

Ren Zhengfei: Hello everyone! Welcome everyone to visit our company, I will accept the media interviews with me frankly, please ask questions, may wish to be sharper.

Swedish national television Ulrika Bergsten: My question is not very sharp. Can you briefly tell us where the inspiration for this building comes from? Is there any meaning behind it? These European designs seem to bring us back to France at the beginning of this century.

Ren Zhengfei: This building was designed by the Japanese. The interior decoration was completed by many companies and artists from Russia, Greece, China and Japan. After the design of the building frame, the lower floor serves as an exhibition hall for products and technology. After the customer visits, come up with a cup of coffee and chat. Architects put together various imaginations to form such a complete building.

The stream that you visited in the morning is also designed by the Japanese. The Japanese architect is called Okamoto. He is an undergraduate, master, and doctor in the United States. The European classic style scheme he designed was accepted by the jury of experts, so it was built like this. This has little to do with the ideas of our company.

Swedish national television Ulrika Bergsten: Although Huawei has established an international environment, the United States, the United Kingdom, and even Sweden are adopting legislative means to limit companies that may pose a security threat to their country in their country. Do business. What does this mean for Huawei and for Sweden?

Ren Zhengfei: I am very supportive of EuropeThe new strategy of digital sovereignty. The former wealth was based on matter, so geopolitics is very important. Now is the information society, information has no boundaries, and digital sovereignty is very important. The new EU policy is to judge based on facts. All companies should promise in advance not to do bad things. Afterwards, the audit did not do bad things. If there is no violation, it is a good company that can survive in Europe. Of course, the rules of Europe should be universally owned, not for a Huawei company. The EU’s assessment report on 5G cybersecurity risks may be promoted around the world. I think this report is positive and good. We are not worried because we have never done bad things. No matter how it is regulated, as long as we carefully review it, we all May get an opportunity.

Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation Philip Lote: Huawei is now involved in two major international disputes. The first is the Sino-US trade dispute, and this dispute has also begun to affect Europe. Second, Huawei is facing accusations that it may be used as a tool for espionage. Can you explain directly to the Nordic people what position Huawei is holding and how do you prepare to maintain Huawei in these two disputes?

Ren Zhengfei: First, the trade struggle between China and the United States has nothing to do with us, because we have no sales in the United States, and no matter what the outcome of the Sino-US trade negotiations, it has no impact on us.

Second, the United States has included us in the list of entities, but now most of the chips we have implemented using our own chips. In the past, we restricted the scale of self-developed chips and wanted to use some US chips to maintain friendly cooperation with US suppliers. Because American companies have been working well with us for the past 30 years, how can we suddenly not use their chips? When the US government imposed a confiscation on us, we started the use of self-developed chips in a large scale. It is how many years of preparation, not suddenly emerged. The US government believes that the severance of Huawei is conducive to taking the initiative in the Sino-US trade struggle. In fact, the US government has not grasped the key points, but has weakened the sales scale of US companies.

Third, on the issue of cyber security, Huawei faces the accusation of the United States. However, as everyone knows, these accusations are groundless. Because historical facts have proved that Huawei is a company of integrity, we have served more than 170 countries and 3 billion people for more than 30 years. So far, there has not been a case of stealing information from others. The false article on the Lithuanian Morning Post suggested that the AU headquarters information disclosure incident was related to Huawei. The Lithuanian court has already ordered the newspaper to publish a statement clarifying the apology. We have used 30 years of history to prove Huawei’s integrity to the Nordic people.

In terms of policy, we will not do this; in terms of interests, as long as we do it once, the whole world will know that weThe commercial credit established in the past 30 years has collapsed, the employees have ran, and I have to go to the tens of billions of bank loans myself. I will never do this on the motive. Therefore, we promise to the Nordic people that we respect the national digital sovereignty of the Nordic countries and will not infringe on sovereignty.

Fourth, just as car manufacturers sell cars to customers, the car is loaded with something that the driver has the final say, not the car manufacturer has the final say. After we sold the communication equipment to the telecom operators, the operators actually controlled the data. The local government was in control of the data. Huawei did not control the data, so we did not steal the data. We strongly support digital sovereignty.

Therefore, the United States’ accusation against us does not exist. The United States has not produced evidence so far. It is only speculation, and speculation does not represent facts.

Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation Philip Lote: Norway is an ally of the United States and a member of NATO, facing pressure from the United States. Recently, Telia, the second largest operator in Norway, decided to let Ericsson build its 5G network. Telenor, Norway’s largest operator and an important customer of Huawei, will make 5G decisions later this year. Do you think Telia’s decision is based on network quality and speed, or is it influenced by political factors?

Ren Zhengfei: We can understand how customers make decisions. Just like when we go to the store to buy clothes, which one to pick? I think you should pick this one, but the customer picks another one. Therefore, different clothes have different people like, and what a customer likes should represent his wishes. With so many operators around the world, it is impossible for all operators to like Huawei. We have not done it in the past, let alone in the current conflicts.

Philip Lote: Do you mean that Telia’s decision is not affected by the current political environment?

Ren Zhengfei: Because I am not their decision-making level, I don’t know if they are affected. So far, we have 60 5G contracts and have shipped 400,000 base stations, which are still growing. One or two customers do not use our equipment and cannot represent a large number of customers.

Finnish National Public Service Broadcasting Corporation Juha Matti Mantyla: You just mentioned briefly that Huawei is capable of self-sufficiency. I want to ask specifically, how is Huawei self-sufficient? In which areas does Huawei’s self-sufficiency work well, and which areas feel the impact and difficulties of the physical list?

任正非: Objectively speaking, Huawei’s influence in the communications field by the US should not be too great. The United States focuses on 5G, as well as the core network… Now, you can tell everyone that from the 5G to the core network… communication field, this year, there is not only a recession, but it is expected to grow slightly. The communications industry represented by 5G is also growing, which is less affected by the United States.

The one that affects us is the terminal. If the United States does not open up the ecology of Google for us, it will be affected in overseas markets.

In intelligent computing, we are also working hard, and there is still a gap between the United States and the United States, and we need to work hard to catch up.

Juha Matti Mantyla: If the current split continues, what impact do you think will affect the industry? Does Huawei have the ability to build another ecosystem that can compete with Google?

Ren Zhengfei: We and Google are still very friendly, even if we want to build an ecosystem, it is not against Google. If the ecology of Apple, Google and Huawei emerges in the world, it is conducive to social progress and development. We do not compete with people as imaginary enemies. There is no such concept.

Swedish Business Daily Johan Nylander: Recently, in an interview with The Economist, you proposed that a non-Chinese competitor can purchase all the 5G technologies licensed by Huawei and use Huawei without fairness and discrimination. 5G patent. Has the parties reacted since you made your statement? In particular, does Ericsson use Huawei’s 5G patent to conduct a dialogue with Huawei?

Ren Zhengfei: First of all, this is a big topic. After expressing this concept, the company will not make a decision in a short time. As Ericsson, we don’t need to buy these patents from us, because the patents between us and Ericsson are mutually licensed, and we are all open. Ericsson is fully qualified to develop and does not have to pay a large sum of money to purchase licenses. I think it is necessary for American companies. Because the United States lacks these technologies and patents, it does not have this step. It is difficult to take another step. There are no big companies in contact with us.

Johan Nylander: Let me know, you haven’t received any response from big American companies so far?

Ren Zhengfei: Yes. The most frequent reactions are some middlemen who want to be a bridge and cannot represent big companies. We recognizeFor the bridge, the bridge is not the most important, and the most important thing is to communicate directly with the relevant big companies.

Swedish Business Daily Johan Nylander: The second question is that the US is planning to provide funds or credit lines to Huawei’s competitors, including Ericsson, to help them gain a competitive advantage. What do you think of this business or trade practice? Do you think this is fair? In particular, the United States is also accusing the Beijing government of providing state support to Chinese companies.

Ren Zhengfei: First, if the US government can lend to Ericsson, Nokia, or to customers who purchase equipment, this should be a positive measure that we can understand and support. I believe that this is good for human society. Any new thing in the development process does not accumulate funds from the beginning. Therefore, it understands and supports the practice of the US government.

Second, for Huawei, we do not have such conditions to be supported. In the past few years, 90% of the funds required for our operations have come from our own operations, and we continue to contribute cash flow to the company through our business activities. Therefore, we have no gap in funding. Why are we developing so fast? First, we have money. Second, the decision-making is very simple. There are not many shareholders in the capital market who are noisy every day. When they are noisy, this era has passed. Our company has a unified decision-making will, and we can make decisions quickly and invest a lot of money. This is our characteristic.

As for buyer credit, this is an international practice. It is normal for countries around the world to help exporting companies. For example, the aircraft is heavily leased by financial leasing and leased to airlines. The airlines have paid back the funds in seven or eight years. This aircraft is an airline. This kind of financial leasing is an international act. We support the U.S. government’s support for Ericsson and Nokia, so that they can occupy a little more market. If we take up less, we will not have conflicts.

Finnish Helsinki Daily Katriina Pajari: Regarding corporate reputation issues, some people think that Nokia is more transparent and reliable than Huawei. What do you personally think about this statement? Do you really think Nokia is as innocent as they say?

Ren Zhengfei: Finland is a great country. First, the Android system comes from Linux. It was invented by the Finns in 1991. After the open source, it produced today’s Android. This contribution is very great. Second, we worked with the University of Tampere in Finland to discover the BM3D filter noise reduction method, allowing our mobile phone camera to take clear photos in the dark. This technology comes from a paper from a Finnish university.
