On October 27th, Perfect World released its third quarter earnings report for 2019. According to the report, Perfect World’s third quarter operating income was RMB 2.155 billion, an increase of 16.77% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was RMB 455 million, a year-on-year decrease of 15%.
Perfect World’s operating income for the first three quarters was RMB 5.812 billion, up 5.43% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was RMB 1.475 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12%.
The report also pointed out that the company transferred the cinema business in 2018. The business income will not be included in the merger in August 2018. After eliminating the above influence, Perfect World’s operating income in the first three quarters increased by 16.10%.
Perfect world revenues include both games and video.
In terms of game business, Perfect World launched three mobile games in China this year, namely “Perfect World” mobile game, “Cloud Dream Four-Time Song” and “The Condor Heroes 2” mobile game. Among them, the first two mobile games adopted the issuance and operation mode of authorized third-party agents.
On April 8 this year, the MMORPG mobile game “Perfect World” launched a full-scale public beta; on May 21, the card game “Cloud Dream Four-Time Song” was released on the whole platform. The distribution and operators of these two games are Tencent games.
The financial report shows that according to the agreement between the two parties, Perfect World needs to collect the split amount according to a certain percentage of the total amount of game player recharge, and determine the income according to the agreement. Compared with the self-operated and joint operation mode, the revenue and channel are recognized according to the total amount of game player recharge, and the revenue and cost amount under the authorized operation mode are lower.
On July 26th, Perfect World released and operated the third self-developed mobile game “The Condor Heroes 2” this year.
After that, the Perfect World will continue to launch “My Origin”, “New Swordsman”, “New Gods of the Continent”, “Dream of the Cygnus”, “Dream of New Immortals”, “The remains of the God of War”, “Magic Tower”,
