The “multinational war” in the Indian smart TV market.

Just holding Motorola, Indian e-commerce Flipkart turned and took the Nokia.

According to cnBeta, on November 6, Indian e-commerce Flipkart announced that it has established a strategic partnership with Nokia, and will soon launch a Nokia-branded smart TV in the Indian market. Under this partnership, Flipkart will manage the marketing strategy of Nokia’s branded smart TV and will also participate in the manufacture and distribution of smart TVs.

This is similar to the way they currently work with Motorola. According to engadge, Motorola India, in partnership with Indian e-commerce site FlipKart, recently launched Motorola TV.

When the Nokia branded smart TVs will be released on the Flipkart e-commerce platform, there is no news of the appearance of these smart TVs or the expected prices in India. But what is certain is that the TV will have a great improvement in sound quality.

Flipkart revealed that the new JBL audio solution will be built in the new product, and the upcoming smart TV will be the first to adopt JBL’s new audio system. Flipkart said that bad sound quality has always been the main complaint of Indian consumers buying TV. The company hopes to solve this problem through Nokia-branded smart TV.

Smart TV is indeed a slogan in the Indian market. With the rise of middle-income groups in India, consumer demand for television has begun to shift to flat-panel TVs, and the need for intelligent interaction and content is more urgent. According to Advanced Television analysis, by the end of 2021, the Indian TV market is expected to reach 9 billion US dollars, and the market prospect is considerable.

But before, Xiaomi, Oneplus and Motorola-Lenovo have entered the Indian smart TV market, and Xiaomi TV has a dominant position. In September this year, Xiaomi said that Xiaomi TV shipped 3 million units in India within 18 months. In India’s smart TV growth, Xiaomi’s contribution rate exceeded 80%, and it is the first brand of Indian smart TV.

Before, 91mobile disclosed that Realme is also in the aftermath of the smartphone market. The development of a Realme TV will be launched in India in the coming months.

India’s TV market has already opened the “multinational war” mode. Before the market, Xiaomi, Oneplus and Motorola-Lenovo have already occupied the market, followed by more competitors such as Nokia and Realme.

Vipul Mehrotra, Vice President of Nokia Brand Partnerships, said: “Our brand is more trustworthy and easier to use in terms of quality, design and reliability in the competitive environment of the Indian market. Flipkart is for Indian consumers. The understanding of demand and behavior and its impact will make Nokia-branded smart TVs easy to use and affordable.”
