Aba County in the spring is both beautiful and dangerous.

From Chengdu to Aba County, driving for 9 hours, halfway through the snow, I spent more time.

The next day, when I went to the countryside, the car was frozen and I couldn’t open the door. In this case, I also met for the first time, so I asked the locals for help.

The locals called Enbo, a taxi driver. He gave two solutions:

Scenario A, wait for the sun to come out and heat the ice; Plan B, take a taxi, from the county to the town of Jiaduo, 15 kilometers, 150 yuan back and forth.

Aba County in the early morning is minus 6°C and 7°C. The road is frozen. The yak will be forked when walking. With my car skills, there is no way to turn it.

I chose B and spent money on taxis, which is more cost-effective than spending money to repair a car.

I think afterwards, in fact, this price is not expensive, 15 kilometers, Enbo opened an hour, noPit me.

Enbo said that this place in Aba has a unique rhythm of life, three seasons are snowing, and one season is making money.

April to August, Aba will usher in a short warm season. The long-lost farmers and herdsmen, like migratory birds, moved their families to Qinghai next door to a higher altitude, and then lived in the mountains for a few months. In May and June, Cordyceps was excavated. In July and August, the fritillary (hereinafter collectively referred to as digging grass) was sown, and in September, it was cold and returned to Aba.

Aba has supported countless Cordyceps merchants. “A pound of Cordyceps has been transferred several times and sold back to the mainland. The average is 40,000, and the top is more than 100,000.”

Embo said, it sounds tempting? However, this money is not good to earn.

Getting money from Cordyceps depends not only on hardship but also on luck.

Excavating Cordyceps in Qinghai, it takes a lot of “mountain fees” to qualify for admission. Going in, earning more and earning less, or losing money to go home, just look at luck.

“It feels a bit like a gambling stone in Yunnan.” I said. Enbo nodded and said, “The children here are going up the mountain with their parents at the age of seven or eight.” Enbo said, “I have the same hour.”

Enbo thinks that he can’t eat hard and has bad luck, so he chose to open a rental.

Cordyceps juvenile

Zeldan, the president of the Keldo Township Central School, said that Enbo’s words are not exaggerated. “In addition to the preschool, 90% of our children have gone up the mountain with their parents.”

The dropout rate was high in the early years, and dredging was the main reason. “If some children go, they will not come back.”

The battle for students between teachers and precious herbs has been going on for many years. Before and after the start of the school, it was the busiest time for the teachers. “All went to the home and went to work for the parents.”

Kerdo Township Xiang’an Village, after a heavy snowfall, the boy is poor and ready to go to school.

I said, your name is not good, you can’t make money, you can change it to Talfu. He refuted me and said that the Tibetan name has a good meaning.

“Have you dug through the grass?” I asked.

Tal poorly dialed the cow dung of the furnace, and made a faint glow, answering me, “I have been there, twice.”

Tal poor, 9 years old, a small second-year student in the Friendship Village, a veteran of the grass. The 8-year-old brother, Muir, also followed him last year and went up the mountain for the first time.

In addition to Muir, Talhou has two younger brothers, 6-year-old Jiayang, and 5-year-old Wang Bai, chasing, rolling, and yaking on the grassland every day.

The season of digging grass, the two younger brothers will be fostered to relatives’ homes. They will be a year or two older and will go to Qinghai with their families.

Mama Zeji, is the head of this family of five. Such a family structure is not uncommon in the plateau.

Zeengji did not go to school, not Chinese. She does not have high requirements for her sons’ learning. They can learn Chinese and learn Chinese. It is enough to do business and make friends with Han people in the future.

Tal poor does not like to dig grass this job, to sit in Qinghai for 7 hours, 8 hours car, he motion sickness.

The place where Cordyceps grows, four or five kilometers above sea level, is higher and colder than hometown. Living in the shed in the mountains, the wind leaked on all sides, can not eat hot meals, sleep well, from the early morning, at night, bent over, the day, the waist will be broken.

Tal poor said that he likes to study and grow up later, wanting to be a policeman.

These words, he did not tell his mother. He knows that to feed a family, mothers are harder.

When he is not in school, he will bring his younger brothers and try to help his mother do more work.

“He studies very well and is suitable for reading.” “Read well, maybe you can go out to college afterwards.” When the family visited, the teachers said.

The teacher took turns to say that Tal was a lot of good words, which made Zerangji feel that there are some better options for the future of the sons.

“I think they grew up, one as a teacher and one as a doctor.” In Zherenji’s view, this is a decent job. She promised the teacher that she would send them to college as long as her son studies hard.

She said that when digging the Cordyceps, the son can stay at the school and take him to dig the frit only during the summer vacation.

Tal poor school

People who live on the flats all the year round, it is difficult to have an intuitive understanding of the word “thousands of people”.

Aba County has a population of about 80,000, but there are more than 10,000 square kilometers of vast sites (about equal to 0.7 Chengdu), large and small villages If the sparse stars are scattered on the snowfield.

In the winter of minus ten degrees, on the plateau of three or four kilometers above sea level, from one town to another, from one village to another,It is a dangerous and long journey.

The year before, Tal was poor to school age.

Zejengji intends to send him to the township center to study, but she quickly gave up on this idea – from home to the town, going around the mountain, one-way trip for two hours.

Another way is to send him to the village first. After reading the second grade in the village, until the age of 10, go to the center school to live.

The children of the plateau are very short-lived, 10 years old, and even if they grow up, they can take care of their own lives.

Keldo Township is a small village in the Friendship Village, located between Geyu Village and Xiang’an Village.

The school is a small courtyard, five rooms, and a preschool class plus one or two grades, with a total of four classes. The conditions are much worse than the central school. Fortunately, it is close to home, and it takes only ten minutes to walk.

Zejengji’s memory, the village has existed for at least 20 years. It used to be a row of dilapidated cabins. The principal was a good-looking old lama. When he was not in class, he often carried a large pocket and smashed cow dung around the school.

A few years ago, the headmaster of the Lama retired, and Zerangji never saw him again.

Occasionally, some strangers came here. They came from Chengdu or other places, brought books, clothes and stationery to the children, built a school building for them, and built a canteen.

One day at the end of March, I and the poor brothers of Tar, walked into the plateau village.

Good Morning, Snowy Village

Through the snowy grasslands, the frozen roads, some walks, some take the father’s motorcycle… In the morning, the children appeared in the village gate.

The recent heavy snow, the road is difficult, the number of students arriving every day is different, more than 100 times, there are more than 80.

Red face stabbed by high-altitude ultraviolet rays, two crumbling snots, ears with frostbite and back of the hand, this is a standard portrait of a plateau child.

Before going out, children like to bring a drink bottle, or just a cough syrup bottle, filled with hot water to warm hands and quench their thirst.

The bottle has a very short holding time. When it is not at school, it is cool on the road.

I haven’t attended class yet. I stopped a few children at the door of the classroom and chatted with them for a while.

Dong Yijie, 10 years old, she said that she went to Qinghai to dig two fritillary.

“Do you like to dig fritillary?” I asked.

“Like,” she said.

The teacher said, “Don’t be afraid, say what you are saying.”

“I don’t like it.”

“I don’t like to dig the frit, what do you like to do in the future?”

“I want to be a teacher.”

Tojicuo, 9 years old, is as thin as her body, and she can’t speak without tension.

Like Dong Yujie, Tojicuo has also been to Qinghai twice. She doesn’t like Qinghai either, because it is “too far.” She stayed on the mountain and made her feel scared.

I asked, what is your future ideal?

Tojito misunderstood the meaning of “ideal.” She said she wants a winter coat, “Span class=”text-remarks” label=”Remarks”>(Qinghai) is too cold.”

Cordyceps and Fritillaria, which grow on the plateau of 4 or 5 kilometers and under the snow, are expensive because of the scarcity of production.

Someone knows that a large part of these affluent tonics are made from these rough little hands.

Class

The bell rings and the children walk into the classroom. I followed it and the temperature inside was not higher than the outside. The school has been out of coal for some time. “In the last two weeks of the last semester, we didn’t burn coal.”

The heater at the window was turned off. In the carton on the side, there was only a little fuel, waste paper, branches and cow dung.

In the classroom, the sound of the children sucking their noses has come and gone, overshadowing the teacher’s lectures.

Teacher Renzhen Zhuoma closed the doors and windows tightly, wrapped his clothes and headscarf, and began to teach the children in the big class.

The school originally had 4 classrooms, children’s large classes, small classes, and one for each of the first and second grades. Some time ago, two new teachers came to live, and they changed one of the small classrooms into a female teacher’s dormitory.

With one less classroom, children in large and small classes can only be huddled together.

The most serious part of the injury is her hindbrain. The scalp is even pulled off by the hair, and then there is no longer hair.

“A few dogs bite her together, and their heads, arms, and legs are all bitten. When we rescued her, her clothes were soaked in blood.”

After living in the hospital for a month, Zamji returned to school. “When she came back, her character was introverted and her courage was small. She was afraid when she mentioned the dog.” Dolma said that she was guilty of thinking about it.

“The children usually play, the teacher will watch next to them.” She said, “When Zamji is bitten, it happens to be at noon, the teachers are eating.”

Zhuoma said that during the break, the meteorite pile is the most common game for children. It is a pile of stones on the ground, standing a few meters away, and the competition is more accurate.

Zamji was attacked while playing the game. Her stone-throwing action angered the dog group next to her.

A group of panicked children, carrying a boy running to the teacher.

Zuo Ma’s worried scene still appeared. The boy bruised his nose and bent down, and his nose and blood dribbled.

Zhuo Ma said, “If children can have some toys, they don’t have to play with stones. Children in small classes will not be so bored.”

I remembered that there was a puppet in the backpack, a few cartoon pencils, ready to be given to the children.

Dan Bai stopped me and said quietly, can’t do this. There are only a few toys, and the children are not happy.

He organized a running competition and distributed them as prizes to show fairness. In this competition, all the children in the school participated.

In the winner, I saw Tal poor again.

Tal poor won a cartoon pencil and he was very happy. I said, next time, I can give him some more.
