Even giants like Yahoo, Kodak, and Nokia will eventually reach the limit. If they pass the limit, they will irreversibly decline.

Because:

2, our internal physiological conditions will also decrease with physical strength, and the original growth model cannot be sustained. The elements that make us successful are often the elements that make us fail, and we all fall into our own value network. Especially when there is a major change in the external environment we rely on, we tend to deal with fatigue.

The value network of the company depends on the following. As individuals, we are like a company, relying on our customers (employers), competitors (newcomers), capital (learning inputs), suppliers (our time) Energy resources), our status is actually only a professional role under the value network, as long as one dimension of the value network changes, we will not be irreplaceable.

03 ​​Open the second curve of the workplace, the key is to actively change, avoid linear efforts

Although the law of the S-curve is irreversible, there are always companies that have crossed one or more cycles and are constantly making new heights on different tracks. They can always deploy new technologies and products before a major technology and product cycle is declining, and begin the cycle development of new S-shaped curves.

There are always some outstanding talents that span multiple industries, and career life continues to expand in many areas. Before the first curve of the profession to the apex, it has already been laid out in the second curve. Some even achieve remarkable achievements in different industries, and the greatest possible extension of their professional life.

These companies and talents are doing the layout early, re-split the elements and re-layout the resources, thus changing their value network and opening the second curve of the enterprise or profession.

To continue to grow, across products and technology cycles, excellent companies will open the second curve before the limit point comes after the first curve breaks through the break point. However, most of the companies have not achieved great success in one area, and they have done more and more, and everything is done, but everything is flat.

04 Extend professional life, learn to think like this often

So we can always think about what stage of the profession is now, can my work continue to develop my ability? Is my growth sustainable?

1, have you broken through the break point in your career and surpassed your peers? If not, what inputs and adjustments should I make?

2, are you in the rapid development stage? Is your resource investment enough at this stage? Is it enough to make your first curve enough?

3, have you reached the limit of the first curve? How much resources do you have in new areas?

4, if your career stalls, do you have any resources on the second curve?

5, is there a break in the second curve? If not, what adjustments can I make?

We first need to work hard in the first curve, professionally strive to achieve success in the first curve, and get returns far beyond the average.

While enjoying the wonderful growth of the first curve, be aware of when our growth can last, is it natural physiological constraints, or is it already facing changes in the external environment?

Before this, we need to recombine our resources and carry out the second curve. We need to consciously and deliberately practice the thinking methods needed at each stage, focus on resources in our strengths, and make breakthroughs at different stages.
