Following last month’s qualifications for the full export manufacturing of fuel passenger vehicles and the development of pure electric passenger vehicles, the Great Wall BMW joint venture Beam Vehicle has obtained production and sales licenses for new energy vehicles.

On December 30, Great Wall Motors released Announcement states that Beam Automobile Co., Ltd. has received the business license of Beam Automobile Co., Ltd. issued by the Zhangjiagang Market Supervision Administration.

The announcement shows that the company type is a limited liability company (Chinese-foreign joint venture), the legal representative is Zhao Guoqing, the registered capital is 1.7 billion yuan, and the business period is from December 27, 2019 to December 26, 2034 for a total of 15 years. . The company’s business scope includes the research and development, production and sales of internal combustion engine vehicles and new energy vehicles (including pure electric passenger vehicles), as well as the export of complete vehicles.

Beam Vehicle Project is located in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu. It is the first vehicle joint venture contracted after China ’s auto-restriction policy was proposed to be liberalized. It is also the first domestic private enterprise to participate in a joint vehicle project.

The total investment of this project is 5.1 billion yuan, the equity ratio of the shareholders of both parties is 50:50, and the planned production capacity is 160,000 vehicles. On November 29, the beam car project was officially launched and is expected to be completed in 2022. It will be put into production of MINI brand pure electric vehicles and new products under Great Wall Motors.
