Beast, it’s finally here!

A recent news stirred the whole 5G arena: China Radio and Television Network Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Radio and Television) Cooperation with the State Grid Corporation of China in the field of 5G. The 5G cooperation between the two parties has been basically established, and it is currently proceeding in an orderly manner. The cooperation plan will be released as soon as the end of the year.

2020 will be the first year for 5G base stations to enter large-scale construction. It will also be the initial stage of performance performance for companies upstream and downstream in the industry chain. 5G has evolved into a focus of competition. All countries want to seize the digital new economy in the next few decades. At a commanding height, all parties are interested in grabbing this newly added 5G cake.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially revealed on the 24th that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently issued the public mobile communication network numbers of paragraphs 190, 197, 196, and 192 to four companies that have obtained 5G licenses. For the first time, radio and television has its own number segment-“192” segment.

From “three nations stand up” to “quartet for hegemony,” operators must consider both the role of state-owned enterprises and social responsibility, and the peaking of the demographic dividend, the rapid release of traffic dividends, speeding up and reducing fees, and reducing homogeneous competition. Under the circumstances, weighing economic, technological and other factors, the strategy of network construction and investment urgently needs planning wisdom, and its competition and cooperation relationship is more complicated.

Can the marriage of the State Radio and Television Network have an impact on the performance of the three major operators, constitute a direct competitive relationship, can change the competitive landscape of the communications market, and ultimately enable users to enjoy lower traffic Tariff?

China Radio and Television: “The fourth largest operator”

As one of the four 5G operators in China, China Radio & TV started the first batch of construction trials with Huawei in Shandong in July after obtaining a 5G commercial license in June 2019, and opened the first 5G in Changsha in November. Base station. According to China Radio and Television’s 5G deployment schedule, in 2020, radio and television will officially commercialize 5G, while developing individual user business and vertical industry applications.

Overall, although broadcast and television 5G construction is not as large-scale as the other three operators, it has made rapid progress in terms of its ability to provide network services.

On December 19th, at the 2019 Communications Industry Conference and the 14th Annual Communication Technology Conference, Li Shuang, Deputy Director of the China Radio and Television Technology Development Research Office, said that China Radio and Television 5G will fully take advantage of 5G fundamentals, including high-quality 700M. Spectrum resources enable the transformation and upgrading of the national cable television network, and build a new type of converged media service network with clear media attributes and a new national information infrastructure network.

It is understood that the 700MHz frequency band was entrusted by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television to be hosted by the State Radio and Television Administration.
