Early in 1949, the battle in Pingjin took a turn for the worse, Yin Zhong, executive director of China Construction Bank CorporationHis wife, eldest son, and youngest son retired from Taiwan, and the second daughter Yin Yizhi and second son Yin Ying who were studying in the university in the north failed to follow in time and stayed on the mainland.

After arriving in Taiwan, Yin Zhongrong took on the heavy task of restructuring Taiwan’s economy, actively building hydropower, supporting industry, and expanding trade. For more than ten years, he has been in control of US aid, foreign trade, and financial power, developed a “planned free economy”, promoted Taiwan’s economic revitalization, and made great achievements. He was known as “the father of Taiwan’s economy.”

In 1983, the fog on both sides of the Taiwan Straits gradually dissipated and the spring breeze was blowing. Yin Zhongrong, the second daughter of Yin Yizhi, went to Hong Kong and met her mother who had been away for 35 years. The old lady said to her daughter in tears:

“You and my brother ca n’t come back, my tears are crying. I have always complained that your father should n’t agree with you to study in the north, but after seeing him, he said nothing, but sighed, I know He is also very sad, so he will no longer do this in front of him. “

At this time, Yin Zhongrong has died for 20 years.

In the torrent of history, individuals’ fate, emotions, and careers have been shattered, and countless families have paid a heavy price for this historic isolation.

Taiwan ’s economic achievements today are not easy. The cross-strait relations have gone through arduous repairs. Now Tsai Ing-wen is re-elected, and people are increasingly worried that the two sides of the strait will enter a state of “man in the wrong way.”

This article sorts out Taiwan ’s 70-year economic history, and looks at the rise and fall of Taiwan ’s economy, industrial transformation and upgrading, and the trend of cross-strait relations from the perspective of economics, technology, and the governance of the world by officials.

After losing Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek urgently needs to solve economic problems in order to quickly establish a foothold on the island.

At that time, Taiwan’s industrial foundation and infrastructure were weak. During the Japanese occupation period, the island was dominated by agriculture and light industry, and industrial capacity was severely insufficient. Take the spinning industry of Taiwan ’s industry as an example. In 1948, there were only about 15,000 spindles in Taiwan.Fifteen thousand.

Taiwan authorities have nationalized some of the 167 large factories in Taiwan in the 43 categories during the Japanese occupation period, as well as nearly a thousand Japanese companies. Chiang Kai-shek hopes to maintain good relations with the local chaebol and squire.

At that time, the Lujia Gu family, the Keelung Yan family, the Banqiao Lin family, the Kaohsiung Chen family, and the Wufeng Lin family were the five largest families in Taiwan. These families all traced their roots during the Japanese occupation period, and became synonymous with the richest people in Taiwan by virtue of political and business relations and land control.

Among them, Lugang Gu’s family is the head of the five major families. It has deep roots and strong influence in Taiwan.

Gu Xianrong, the founder of the Gu family, traveled across the Taiwan Straits to manage the sugar and coal businesses on a sunny day. During the Sino-Japanese War, he supplied coal to Zhang Zhidong’s western enterprises.

After the defeat of the Sino-Japanese War of the Sino-Japanese War, China and Japan signed the Ma-Kwan Treaty to cede Taiwan. The Qing army and the court officials collectively withdrew from the mainland. At a time when Taipei was in chaos and the situation was in dire straits, the local gentry recommended Gu Xianrong to negotiate with the Japanese, and Gu Xianrong left the city alone to welcome the Japanese army into the city for peace talks.

Gu Xianrong was the first person to cooperate with the Japanese army at that time, and was called “traitor” by the locals. The Taiwanese compiled a ballad to ridicule him: “Japan saw 50,000 soldiers on the mountain, and when they saw the surname Gu Xingtou, they happily came to Taipei, regardless of Ruan Niang’s old love.”

After being reused by the Japanese army, Gu Xianrong ’s power expanded rapidly, and the power of politics and business on the island was no less than that of the Governor. During the Japanese occupation period, the Gu family industry included salt, sugar, opium, fisheries, camphor, railways, docks, and fields, and it was all-inclusive and mostly monopolized. Guangliangtian has more than 6000 hectares, Yantian has more than 300 hectares, and owns private trains and freighters.

In 1935, Gu Xianrong came to the mainland to meet Chiang Kai-shek and advocated Japanese-Chinese friendship. Two years later, Japan waged a war of aggression against China, and Gu Xianrong died in Tokyo.

After Gu Xianrong’s death, the Gu family broke the tradition of rumors. The 20-year-old second-door son Gu Zhenfu inherited the family business. At this time, Gu Zhenfu was a freshman at the National Taiwan University, but he was also a director of seven companies. long.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War for eight years, the National Government took over Taiwan, and the Gu family burned the “Biography of Gu Xianrong Weng” in order to avoid the liquidation of rape.

In 1947, Gu Zhenfu, the heir to the Gu family, was still arrested for “conspiring Taiwan independence and splitting the country.” Also arrested at the same time were Lin Xiongxiang and Lin Xiongzheng of the Banqiao Lin family. They were held in the same temple.

After more than a year, Chiang Kai-shek saw that the situation had gone and quickly withdrew to Taiwan.>

However, Yin Zhongrong’s “privatization of the public economy” policy harmed the interests of the nobles and suffered retaliation.

In 1955, Yin Zhongrong resigned from all posts in a Yangzi Timber Company loan case and the defendant went to court. Jiang Jieshi came forward to try to protect Yin Zhongrong, but the Supreme Procuratorate insisted on prosecuting Yin Zhongrong.

This made Jiang Whibe very angry. He wrote in his diary: “With the rhetoric (In fact, Gu Zhenfu is considered a minority in Gu’s family) In the early years, Ku Kuanmin was wanted by the Kuomintang for participating in the Taiwan Independence Movement. He was in exile in Japan for a long time. He did not return to Taiwan until he was forgiven by Chiang Ching-kuo in 1972.

After the death of Jiang Jingguo, Ku Kuanmin once again exposed his ambitions and invested most of his property in the Taiwan independence movement. Joined the DPP in 1996 and fully sponsored DPP candidates to run for “President”. In 2008, Ku Kuanmin was elected as the chairman of the DPP, losing to Cai Yingwen with a slight disadvantage.

The DPP took advantage of Lee Teng-hui’s situation and actively embraced Taiwan’s local forces and young people. After that, Chen Shui-bian and Tsai Ing-wen took turns to battle, and their speech became increasingly extreme. In the middle, because Chen Shui-bian was involved in a corruption case, KMT Ma Ying-jeou pulled back the two innings, but Ma’s “maintaining the status quo on both sides of the strait” was merely a “miracle”.

During the administration of Lee Teng-hui and Chen Shui-bian, Taiwan’s economy began to slow down. After Ma Ying-jeou, and then Tsai In-wen, Taiwan’s economy is close to a low-growth state. Taiwan’s economic trend is close to that of South Korea. There are objective factors for the decline in the dividend of technology transfer, and human error caused by political disruption. As a result, Cai Yingwen’s ability to govern has been questioned by many people, and he has been challenged once. Chi Society (ID: zhibenshe0-1) , Author: SD, Chi Society President, I am the president
