According to public information, Xiaotangshan Hospital covers an area of 473.58 acres and the hospital area covers an area of 450,000 square meters. It was built in April 2003 when SARS was in critical condition. At that time, more than 7,000 construction workers were urgent for 7 days and 7 nights. Xiaotangshan’s designated SARS ward was completed. Construction area25,000 square meters, can accommodate 1,000 beds.
According to reports at the time, the hospital had admitted 680 SARS patients within 51 days, with only 8 deaths and a mortality rate of less than 1.2%, the lowest in the world.
