The 17th case is a 26-year-old female Vietnamese tourist returning from the United Kingdom. She arrived at Hanoi Noi Pai Airport on March 2 in the business class of Vietnam Airlines Flight VN0054, and then returned to her home in Hanoi. On March 5, she went to the hospital for high fever, cough, and fatigue, and was subsequently diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.

The patient flew from Hanoi to London on February 15, and traveled to Milan, Italy, and Paris, France, on February 18 and 25, and began to have cough and fatigue symptoms on 29, Not thenfever. The patient boarded a passenger plane returning to Vietnam without seeking medical treatment, and concealed his illness when he entered the country. She has been transferred to the negative pressure isolation ward of the Dongying County Branch of the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital for treatment.

From March 7, all passengers entering Vietnam, regardless of Vietnamese nationality, must complete an electronic health declaration, and any passenger who has traveled to or through China, South Korea, Iran, and Italy must accept 14 days of centralized isolation. From the morning of March 10th, Vietnam will implement a nationwide health declaration system, and all residents and tourists in Vietnam need to complete mandatory health declaration procedures.

Vietnam’s Epidemic Prevention Steering Committee also recommends that the visa exemption policy be temporarily suspended for the EU and the United Kingdom, as well as other countries with cumulative confirmed cases of more than 500 people or more than 50 new cases per day. In the morning of March 9th, 20 provinces and cities in Vietnam extended the date of suspension of elementary and secondary schools again. Including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, classes will be suspended until March 15.
