The first phase of the Tonghu Railway is 137.47 kilometers long and has a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour. It has 9 stations including Nantong West, Zhangjiagang, Changshu and Taicang. The journey to Shanghai takes only 1 hour. The railway will also be connected to the Ningqi Railway, passengers from Yangzhou and Taizhou, and it will only take more than 2 hours for the train to reach Shanghai directly along the line.

Lian Huaiyang Town Railway Huaizhen Section
Lian Huaiyang Town Railway Huaizhen Section is an extension of the Lianhuai High-speed Railway that opened to traffic at the end of last year 250 kilometers per hour. Lianhuaiyang Town Railway is known as the “backbone” of the North Jiangsu Railway. This railway is connected to the Shanghai-Nanjing intercity in Zhenjiang. After opening, Lianyungang to Nanjing will only take more than 2 hours, and Huaian to Nanjing will no longer need to bypass Xuzhou.

The distance between Lianyungang and Xuzhou will be shortened to about 40 minutes after the completion of the Xuzhou high-speed rail.
