“You do n’t understand social products”

At the end of 2016, due to unsuccessful financing, I suspended my previous social entrepreneurship project and disbanded the team. Because the previous project is still generating revenue, I am not in a hurry to go to work.

Before leaving, I asked: Which business department of Tencent did you originally belong to? The other party answered: ECC. (Note: ECC is Tencent’s e-commerce department. It was established in 2012. After Tencent’s shareholding in JD.com in 2014, it was gradually marginalized until it died.)

Although this buddy has never done a social product, anyway, he has seen a pig run. Obviously, this company is just the place where ECC hangs. However, how important is such a resume for his career development?

“If you have craftsmanship, you will not be hungry”

I asked Lao Yuan, how could it be transformed into hardware and installation and maintenance?

Lao Yuan said that he had done renovation work before he opened the hotel, and he also had an electrician ’s certificate. Now the hotel does not let it open, but the surrounding homes and companies have a lot of installation and maintenance needs, and many customers are also in the past. Hotel guests. Moreover, his price is fair, there are many repeat customers, and the short distance is also convenient for the company to solve the problem with one stop.

There is no way to have no one else. As long as you have a skill, it is not so difficult for individuals and families to meet their needs in life. Will your major allow you to continue to make money after leaving the company? If not, should you reserve a craft that can feed yourself?

Build your own moat

The Internet industry likes to talk about the business moat of enterprises. For individuals, you also need to build your own moat to ensure that when no one pays you, your income will not fall off the cliff.

If you are younger, youth is an advantage because younger means less burden and lower cost, and others are more willing to use you and give you the opportunity. The social value of everyone is the value that TA can provide to the outside world. Being young, growing fast, and being able to work overtime are also valuable.

If you have eaten some kind of dividends and made quick money for various reasons in the past few years, you should pay attention to avoid unbalanced mentality or drastic changes in self-cognition. Quick money is not the norm, and there are not many outlets. It is important to admit that you are lucky. Do n’t think that your ability is bursting because of making money, and do n’t lose it because the fast money window period ends.

If you face a middle-aged out, do n’t panic.

On the one hand, even if the company does not hang up, it will not support you for life. Recognize this fact early and start your own preparations early.

On the other hand, China’s development is still in an upward stage. Various online and offline infrastructures are complete. The market of more than one billion people can feed you. This is not to encourage you to deliver food. The added value is a bit low. You have to reserve the skills to invest in higher output, let’s call it “handicraft”.

There are two principles for each individual to choose their craft.

First, it does not depend on excessive external resources, that is, “individual units” and individual combat capabilities.

Second, it is a craft that can bring positive feedback to yourself and create value.

The positive feedback is for perseverance, especially during the cold start phase. Persistence is very important. Value creation emphasizes the provision of value to the outside world. For example, tourism can bring pleasure to yourself, but it cannot create value unless you can export what you see in tourism as content.

The good days of eating hot pot and singing songs will probably be more and more difficult in the future. How to improve our adaptability and survivability is the most important issue we should consider under the epidemic.
