At the press conference on the first flight mission of the Long March 5B carrier rocket held on the evening of May 5, Ji Qiming, assistant director of the China Manned Aerospace Engineering Office, introduced the successful first mission of the Long March 5B carrier rocket. The “three steps” for the implementation of the “third step” development strategic mission of the manned spaceflight project, which opened the prelude to the mission of the space station in the orbital construction phase, laid a solid foundation for the subsequent launch of the core module and experimental module of the space station.

He introduced that according to the plan, China ’s space station will be completed around 2022, with a total of 12 flight missions planned. After this mission, we will launch the Tianhe core module, Wentian experimental module and Mengtian experimental module successively to carry out the on-orbit assembly and construction of the basic configuration of the space station; during this period, we plan to launch 4 Shenzhou manned spacecrafts and 4 Tianzhou freighters Spaceship, astronaut crew rotation and cargo replenishment.
