On the morning of June 3, the “Zhenhua 32” ship carrying the first batch of 10 rail cranes was successfully berthed under the escort of the remote monitoring of the Ship Traffic Management Center of the Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Administration and the on-site “Sea Patrol 011” Yangshan Port Phase IV automated terminal. With the addition of new bridge cranes and rail cranes into the port in batches, the annual loading and unloading capacity of the Yangshan Port Phase IV automated terminal will increase to 5 million TEUs in the future.

The Yangshan Port Phase IV automated terminal is currently the largest automated container terminal built in the world at one time. There are currently 16 bridge cranes and 80 rail cranes with an annual throughput of 4 million. Standard box.

From January to May 2020, the Yangshan Port Phase IV automated terminal realized the import and export of container containers of 1.41 million TEUs, an increase of 140,000 TEUs over the same period last year. 11%. In order to further improve the loading and unloading capacity and meet the potential increase in import and export trade in the third quarter, the Yangshan Port Phase IV automated terminal plans to purchase 5 additional bridge cranes and 20 rail cranes.

This entry is the first batch of newly planned rail cranes. There will still be two batches of entry plans in the future, and the annual handling capacity will be increased to 5 million Standard box.

Jin Lianggang, director of the command center of Yangshan Port Maritime Bureau, introduced that the rail carried by the “Zhenhua 32” ship exceeded the ship’s side by 3.8 meters on both sides, and the height was more than 30 meters. It is higher than the bridge, blocking the driver’s sight and affecting the detection performance of the ship’s radar. As a result, the ship’s driver cannot observe the ships that frequently leave the dock in the sight, which poses a safety hazard.

During the ship’s entry into the port, the Maritime Bureau of Yangshan Port grasped the dynamics of the ship ahead of the “Zhenhua 32” ship in advance and pre-judged the traffic organization of the ship’s dense waters. Avoid encountering the ship with the ship; and point-to-point reminding by safety information broadcast to avoid the ship from hindering the ship’s navigation; patrol boat timely handles the on-site obstruction and opens up a safe passage for the ship to enter the port safely.
