China Unicom can use nearly 130,000 5G base stations, covering all municipalities, major capital cities, and key cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, and Greater Bay Area regions. The two sides have joint technical research, jointly formulated standards, jointly promoted the research and development of main equipment, and actively played a leading role in technology, promoting the research and development of 3.5G mid-band large-bandwidth, large-capacity, high-performance base station equipment, and achieved a global 2.7Gbps in the 5G commercial network. The highest network rate in the mid-band, the advancement of the 2.1GHz wide-band international standard formulation, the realization of the world’s first SA base station co-construction and sharing, and played a powerful role in promoting the development of China’s 5G industry chain and promoting China’s 5G network technology leadership.

In late January 2020, when the New Coronary Pneumonia epidemic raged, China Unicom opened the 5G networks of Vulcan Mountain and Raytheon Mountain for the first time, relying on the Unicom 5G network and medical cloud platform Conduct remote consultations for severe cases, at the same time build a 5G live broadcast platform for hundreds of millions of viewers, and jointly watch the construction of the Vulcan Mountain and Thunder Mountain Hospitals.
