In 2012, Anhui’s Meiya Optoelectronics independently developed the first domestic CBCT with independent property rights, which broke the foreign monopoly and filled the gap in domestic high-end CBCT manufacturing. Prior to this, an imported CBCT on the domestic market was generally priced at 2 million. Only some large public hospitals can afford one, and ordinary small clinics cannot afford it.
The emergence of Meiya Optoelectronics’ CBCT has directly suppressed the arrogance of imported CBCT and forced the CBCT of more than 2 million abroad to be reduced to more than 300,000 today.
But apart from CBCT, many other high-priced equipment still face large technological gaps in China.
Part.2 Labor cost: Jingui dentist talent
Although the establishment of public hospitals is fragrant, firstly, the attractiveness of fixed wages in public hospitals is very limited. Second, the content and intensity of public hospital doctors under the “public interest” attribute are much higher than those of private hospitals. However, due to the monopoly of academic hospitals and medical equipment by public hospitals, it is not easy for many doctors to practice independently. The dentist is an exception.
First, dentistry rarely requires cross-departmental, large-scale teamwork. This gives the possibility of independent practice in dentistry in terms of technical operation, and the demand for academic resources by dentists is not high;
Second, compared with the fixed salary in the system, dentists can have higher service pricing independently, which naturally makes them want a higher medical knowledge to realize.
According to the statistics from the Health and Family Planning Commission on the admissions of specialized hospitals, stomatology hospitals ranked fourth in revenue, ranked first in profit margin, and had strong profitability. While observing the composition of expenditures of various specialty hospitals, personnel expenditures of dental hospitals accounted for nearly 50%, ranking first. With the gradual decline in the price of dental medical equipment, staff expenditure has become the most significant factor affecting the profitability of stomatological hospitals.
