Later, we realized that doing small programs is a huge pit, because we did something that we are not good at, but in fact we still need to ensure our core competitiveness. Since 2018, we will no longer do anything else and concentrate on content.

In the second half of the year, we decided to devote ourselves to the creation of personal IP. Many of the main courses were edited by me. In the first ten months, although we insisted on making content, the profit was very low and we were always losing money.

Until October, we accumulated some private domain traffic, and the paid column of headline content gradually improved, and we started to operate positively and tend to be profitable.

In order to promote short video courses, we have tried almost all online and offline channels.

Online, we have tried to publish short video courses in Kuaishou. But after dozens of articles were published, no one watched or had any interaction, this type may not be popular in Kuaishou. And if the same content is posted on Douyin, you can quickly gain fans.

In terms of platform selection, what we do is paid content presented in the form of short videos, so what we are actually most concerned about is how much knowledge it has, and someone needs to buy short video courses. You must know that the most important thing for content payment is the payment attribute of the content itself, its profitability, not its traffic attribute.

While offline, I spent a year traveling in 50 cities, helping manufacturers to do offline preaching and then promoting 4 sets of courses. Up to now, we have launched 40 short video courses in total, have more than 100,000 individual paying users, and have 400,000, 100,000, and 30,000 followers on Toutiao, Douyin, and Station B respectively. In addition, we update at least once a day without interruption, which is equivalent to a 10-minute short video every day. We are still mass producing other tidbits or product reviews.

In the photography category, we have the largest sales on many platforms. Our team consists of 5 people, and last year’s revenue was close to 2 million yuan. The amount of value generated per capita is also close to 400,000 yuan.

In the early days of the epidemic, the momentum of payment for content was good. Everyone bought courses when they were at home. The gains during that period are normal, and there are even mentionsCompared with one or two thousand word drafts, Deepin technology drafts also have their own disadvantages.

For example, the timeliness of the in-depth manuscript is not as good as that of the normal manuscript. Making a short video itself is a double cycle, which is strengthened before and after. At the same time, the in-depth manuscript is double the period of the normal manuscript. The time will be close to 3-4 times that of ordinary text.

Many of my friends who are doing short video startups persuaded me to do a lot of work in the early stage, which is not conducive to account drainage. We also tried to find some operating methods, such as activities and interaction. However, it turned out that the only way to work quickly was to accelerate the frequency of short video creation and increase the speed of following hot spots.

Because the account tone cannot be changed, we plan to open a new column after posting three in-depth manuscript videos. The purpose of making short video works that are short, flat, quick, respond to hot spots, and output quickly is to attract traffic. You know, this kind of column is easy to explode in station B. Once exploded, the conversion rate of the account with fans is even higher than that of the official account.

I made a short video for the company before, and its long tail effect is extremely obvious. After the short video burst, it will be ranked first in the list of a certain keyword. Within two months, the average daily fan growth of the account is 10-20 times the original.

More importantly, station B also has a re-push mechanism, that is, as long as there is a short short video, the platform will recommend it to the homepage or channel homepage after a period of time. In addition, we will do some simplification from shooting to editing.

Because the optimization lasted for a long time, we only released the second short video work a few days ago.

Our third short video work is expected to be released within two weeks. After opening a new column, we will basically follow the hot spots, at least once a week, and we will also vigorously promote it.
