Here, like everyone else, I am just a witness. My life has become part of this event. I live here, with everything. ——S.A.Alexievich

My family lives in Yichang, Hubei, 320 kilometers from Wuhan. As of January 28, 51 cases of new pneumonia were confirmed in Yichang, Hubei, and one died.

I was studying in Nanjing. I returned to Hubei from Nanjing at noon on January 14th. What happened next was like a movie without spoilers and endings. We all performed in groups.

I got off at Wuhan Station on the evening of the 14th and went to the grandmother’s house by subway. At that time, I didn’t feel anything strange, the subway was as crowded as usual, few people wore masks, everything was normal.

Grandma ’s home is in Hanyang, Wuhan. The next day after I got home, I went out with my high school classmates in Wuhan to go out to play. We went to Optics Valley, where it was as busy as usual, and colleges were on vacation. And did not see related news.

I stayed in Wuhan for 4 days. On January 18th, I returned to Yichang by train from Hankou Railway Station. At that time, Hankou Station was crowded, but no one was seen wearing a mask. After returning to Yichang, everything is as usual, and there is no sign of a storm coming.

I didn’t realize the seriousness of the problem until the morning of January 21, when all the news in the circle of friends and friends were Academician Zhong Nanshan going to Wuhan. I checked the information on the Internet and realized that it was not easy. I told my family about it and they all thought I was fussed and said that I was too young and I had never seen a big storm. I said I would wear a mask when I went out, and adults laughed at me because I was afraid of death.

In the afternoon, my grandmother called my mother and said that Wuhan ’s masks were no longer available. I asked my mother to send it to Wuhan after buying it in Yichang. At this time, the adults began to pay attention to this matter, but it still did n’t cause any problems. Attention, I went to the supermarket to purchase New Year’s goods in the evening. I persuaded them to wear masks several times and they ignored them. At this time, there were still a lot of people on Yichang Pedestrian Street. Except for some girls who might be afraid of wearing a mask, most people did not wear a mask.

January 22 is a watershed. People ’s communication about the epidemic has increased sharply. The circle of friends and friends are full of epidemic news. At the same time, the news of Hubei Province leaders watching the show was also broadcast, and people ’s mentality is obvious It became impetuous, and there were more and more questions about the government. For example, why did Wuhan hold a Wanjia Banquet on the 19th? Are Wuhan’s supplies sufficient? Was Hubei Province’s actions in the fight against the epidemic appropriate and timely?

On January 23, Wuhan closed the city, at 1 am, my mother received a unit call; at 3 am, my dad also received a unit call, strictly prohibiting leaving Yichang, until this time, they finally realized The seriousness of the problem, wearing a mask when going out, refusing to go to visit relatives and friends, and ready to hoard supplies.

Following the closure of Wuhan, Huanggang and Ezhou closed the following morning, Xianning and Xiantao closed in the afternoon. On New Year’s Eve, all cities in Hubei Province except the Shennongjia Forest District were closed, one with 56 million. The large central province of the population is closed.

My dad is a police officer. After receiving a call in the early morning of January 23, he began to deploy a public health incident level 2 response. But at that time, everyone seemed to disagree. Some uncles and uncles thought that the epidemic was the main battle. The scene was in Wuhan, and Yichang was not the hardest hit area; some people felt that the Hubei Provincial Government was simply dizzy. Such a serious matter was only a level 2 response.

When Yichang responded at level 2, public security operations were basically on duty. The main activity was to set up cards at intersections, conduct spot checks on E-A license plates and take compulsory measures against those who refused to cooperate with the inspection.

On January 24th, which is the 30th day of the Lunar New Year, Hubei Province entered a first-level response to a public health incident, and Yichang announced its closure. On New Year’s Eve, my dad didn’t go home. All the police in Yichang canceled their vacation and returned to work from various places.

This year is Chinese New Year. No one in our family is watching the Spring Festival Gala. For the first time in many years, there is no reunion. The family was separated in Yichang, Wuhan, Huanggang and Ezhou. In order to fight the epidemic, Yichang’s medical staff and police officers stopped their vacation and returned to work.

On January 25, the first day of the Chinese New Year, when I woke up, my father had gone to work and did n’t go home for lunch at noon. He did n’t return to his house in a reflective vest until night. I asked him why he did n’t change clothes. He said “to be ready to fight at all times, the young people were deployed to the hospital, and we had to be topped by us old guys on the road.”

In addition to the extreme fatigue of personnel, the dispatch of public security vehicles is also very tight. Each road card needs to be equipped with police cars, and a large number of police cars are used to open the road for vehicles carrying emergency supplies.

The Yiling District of Yichang, where my home is located, is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The average altitude of the northwest mountainous area is nearly two kilometers. To be honest, this is the first time I’ve seen my father wear a reflective vest to work.

My home is close to the highway, and I can usually hear the roar of cars around the clock, but the two days of the road are extremely quiet, and the most clear is the harsh sound of police cars and ambulances.

Since the city was closed on January 25, except for his father, who still has to go to work every day, the rest of the family has basically not gone out, except that Grandpa occasionally wears his mouth in the evening. The hood walked in the community and was breathable. All the exits of the community have been closed, leaving only the gates close to the supermarket for people to pass. There are medical staff holding thermometers at the gates to detect passers-by. Except that some housewives go out to buy living supplies every morning, most of the time The streets were deserted.

On January 28th, the fourth day of Yichang ’s closure was probably used to its current state. From the exchanges in the circle of friends, we can see that everyone ’s panic about the epidemic was much smaller than the previous few days, showing more What came out was the boredom and irritability at home for a long time, and began to imagine when the epidemic could end, hoping that life would return to normal as soon as possible.
