On April 23, the Jiangsu Textile Industry Association officially released the group standard “Polypropylene Meltblown Nonwoven Fabrics for Masks” (T / JSFZXH001-2020). This standard is the first national standard issued for mask-blown meltblown fabrics. It is mainly applicable to mask-blown meltblown fabrics for sanitary protection. It is adopted by group members in accordance with the agreement and is voluntarily adopted by the society.

It is understood that this standard was proposed by the Jiangsu Provincial Fiber Inspection Bureau under the guidance of the Jiangsu Provincial Market Supervision Bureau, and in conjunction with the Nanjing Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute and related melts The spraying production enterprise drafted it, and it will be formally implemented on April 26. The promulgation and implementation of the standard will play an active role in regulating the production and operation of melt-blown cloth enterprises and ensuring the quality of the core raw materials of masks.

Meltblown cloth has the characteristics of small pore size, high porosity and high filtration efficiency. As the core material for mask production, since the outbreak of New Coronary Pneumonia, since the outbreak of New Coronary Pneumonia. Relevant enterprises switch to meltblown fabrics, but they do not know enough about the raw materials, equipment, and production processes used. The filtration efficiency of the meltblown fabrics produced is not high, and the quality cannot meet the needs of mask production.

Jiangsu is a major province for the production of meltblown fabrics. Previously, Yangzhong City, Jiangsu Province, known as the “hometown of meltblown fabrics” “Shock therapy” was implemented. Since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, more than 800 enterprises involved in the production and sales of meltblown nonwoven fabrics have been registered in Yangzhong City, and the companies whose business scope is related to meltblown fabrics have experienced a “blowout” growth.

Yangzhong City first emphasized the strict implementation of the “three uniformity” requirements, that is, those that use family workshops for production will be banned; if there are no legal and compliant production and operation procedures, all Shut down; if there are hidden safety hazards and environmental protection is not enough, all businesses will be closed for rectification. On April 15, Yangzhong City decided to suspend production and rectification of melt-blown fabric manufacturing enterprises and individual industrial and commercial households throughout the city until the products met relevant quality standards and the production environment facilities met safety and environmental protection requirements.

The group standard of “PP Meltblown Nonwoven Fabrics for Masks” released by Jiangsu Province this time revolves around polypropylene meltblown nonwoven fabrics for masks, which stipulates raw material requirements, Product classification, basic technical requirements, special technical requirements, inspection and determination methods, and clear requirements for product identification.

The main technical indicators of the group standard include particulate filtering efficiency, bacterial filtering efficiency, breaking strength, mass deviation rate per unit area, and appearance quality requirements. The standard stipulates the following: First, the product is classified according to the level of product filtration efficiency, which is divided into KN30 and KN6There are 6 levels: 0, KN80, KN90, KN95, and KN100. The second is to stipulate the raw materials used, which should meet the requirements of “Special Plastic Melt-Blowing Material for PP” (GB / T 30923-2014), limiting the use of toxic and hazardous substances. The third is to put forward specific requirements for particulate filtration efficiency and bacterial filtration efficiency corresponding to different filtration efficiency levels to meet the requirements of different types of masks for melt-blown cloth.

At present, China has two related industry standards for meltblown fabrics, namely “Spunbond / Meltblown / Spunbond (SMS) Nonwoven Fabric” (FZ / T 64034-2014) and “Melt-blown Nonwovens” (FZ / T 64078-2019). The former is suitable for SMS products that use polypropylene as the main raw material and reinforced by hot-rolled bonding; the latter is suitable for non-woven fabrics produced by melt-blown method. The end use is not limited to masks, and the standard is only for width and mass per unit area. To put forward requirements, the standard values of key indicators such as filtration efficiency and air permeability are stipulated by the supply and demand contract. At present, the production of meltblown fabrics by enterprises is mainly based on enterprise standards, but the relevant indicators are also uneven.

It is understood that the release of the group standard will effectively play the role of the group standard “fast, flexible and advanced” to help Jiangsu melt-blown cloth production and operation enterprises to correctly understand and Master the key index requirements for meltblown fabrics for masks, improve product standards, and produce in compliance with the law, and provide effective technical support for regulating the market order of meltblown fabrics and ensuring the quality of epidemic prevention products

Next, under the guidance of Jiangsu Market Supervision Bureau, Jiangsu Fiber Inspection Bureau will work with the Provincial Textile Industry Association to interpret and publicize the standards to further popularize meltblown Related quality knowledge. At the same time, it will do a good job in publicizing the standards, training major production enterprises and grassroots supervisors in Jiangsu Province, and further guiding the production and supervision of meltblown fabrics.
